Hi all! I just finished up with finals and have 3 weeks to read before January term begins. I read everything! Any new recommendations?
Hi all! I just finished up with finals and have 3 weeks to read before January term begins. I read everything! Any new recommendations?
This book is probably the most lovely thing I‘ve read in a very long time. Bravo!❤️. Please add it to your holiday reading!
This may be a collection that I can‘t find enough of the right words to express the impact it has had on me. Powerful, stunning, educational, remarkable and a book to revisit with others. Let‘s start there. I am in awe of you Claudia Rankine. Thanks for making me read, think and emote simultaneously.
Picked up the first 3 of this series in Florida. Wasn‘t drawn by the cover but by the comments from Stephen King, Jonathan Kellerman, Mary Higgins Clark, Dean Koontz, Sue Grafton, John Saul and Lee Child. Love finding these older mystery series and what a powerhouse group of fans! Only took a few chapters in to see why.
I have been off Litsy forever!! But I retired effective Jan 1st and have finished 4 books already. This book though... I can not recommend it enough (although I am guessing most have read it by now). I fell in love with the characters and the book‘s letter format. While the story‘s setting in time is heart wrenching, its ending is beautiful and hopeful. I am saddened by the author‘s untimely death. Her work is incredible.
New cover for my IPad and a Kindle and cover in the mail yesterday. Preparing for a December European journey with @Redy2trvl down the Rhine. Excited to talk books, relax, shop the Christmas markets and... drink a lot of wine 🍷
Next up on my daily commute. The opening music is lovely. Looking forward to my ride home this afternoon.
I don‘t think I‘ve ever read Conroy before A Lowcountry Life. Love his memoir works - excited to try his fiction.
Next up on my road to retirement commute. #audiobooks #wherehaveyoubeenallmylife #commutingintothesunset
Next up for the commute.
Going to fan girl and read Bobby Bones‘ newest.
The story was fine - although predictable; Brown‘s formula is clear. My real problem was the narrator, Victor Slezak. His voice was not even close to what I expected, or would have wanted, for John Trapper.
Next up for my daily commute.
Seemed like the right time to read this. It had been lingering on my shelves for far too long.
Finished this quickly. The author is an acquaintance. I applaud her honesty in telling her story. Military wives everywhere should be able to relate.
Just finished this in audio. This book broke my heart- poor Pearl. What I‘m curious about though- is there a follow up? Sure left me wanting to know what happens next!
Several month ago I bought this book for my significant other when his best pet friend was ailing. Fortunately she is better and I forgot I had it. Unfortunately, 2 weeks ago, we lost my best pet friend and I found the book last night when I sought some quiet in my office/library. The drawings and words are beautifully done and I found it very touching. #readingsoothesthesoul
Finished this up this morning. I worked with the author‘s father in the railroad industry and curiosity got the best of me. Regardless of my original intentions, the writing was excellent and the author‘s thoughts on unions and poetry were so intriguing to me.
Next up to make my ride to work bearable- I‘m returning to Sandra Brown.
Well I didn‘t get through #4in48 but I did get through The Stranger and Train Dreams. Both books were odd. I have learned that I need to choose lighter reads for these challenges. @Syndelle777
@Syndelle777 Ready for #4in48readathon. Thinking The Stranger, Tinkers and Disgrace will work for the #litsyclassicschallenge also. @Sarah83
Just started this on the way to work. Even if your not a fan or a writer, listen to the beautiful tribute by his wife and fellow author Cassandra King in the forward. Beautiful words.
Thanks to lovely family members, I had 3 gift cards at B&N to spend yesterday. Continued to add to my growing poetry collection. I also received this custom bookmark among others, from @Redy2trvl this weekend as part of our Happy Independent Bookstore Day celebration! Yay!!! I‘m a happy Litten this morning.
About 40 chapters in and I couldn‘t love this story more. I am in awe of authors who perfectly describe the pain felt in divorce. While I am well past my own, I find it cathartic to hear described in the most perfect words what those days were like. Of course this book is also so much more, fine art, mental health, Paris....
Birthday.book haul! What an amazingly wonderful day I have had. Lots of friends, fellowship and FOOD! And these books to remember it by. Which do I read first Littens?
Just going to buy bday cards at B&N - that never works. Adding to the poetry section of my bookshelves. 💕🤗
Newest commute listen (oh how I don‘t miss redundant radio). The audio gods must be shining on me - a story about all the great painters with a mystical angle. Written by one of my favorites! Happy 😃 Camper!
Because letter B is kicking my butt - going to read this for letter C and then go back. #litsyclassicschallenge @Sarah83
Continuing my post- vacation reading. Interesting read having just visited the city.
😊It was a movie - The Sound of Music 😊Austria of course 😊Christmas markets on the Rhine 😊Fly or by boat 😊Both!
#manicmonday @JoScho
OMG - I did it! Successful crop of a photo to eliminate someone else‘s info! Yay!!!!

7. My new book light which hangs around my neck with two lights!
Check this out @Redy2trvl 😊😊😊
#Litsyclassics #letterb @Sarah83 Next up Fitzgerald. Not sure how I feel about this author - based on Amazon series influence- but love the time period involved. Let‘s get started.
And my commute has been classed up a bit from the Jackie Collins read along to a story that I‘m so excited to hear. Loved Downton - hoping to fill that void!
This book is a gem. Lines throughout will take your breath away. And Gibson‘s spoken word recordings are some of the best. Highly recommend.🙌🏻💕🙌🏻💕
Finished this audiobook this morning. Fun story - predictable though in plot and dialogue.
#Litsyclassics#lettera @Sarah83 First book completes on this challenge. Thank you Agnes for so eloquently explaining to me why I love Poetry in Chapter 17. Love this version - great historical info included and the explanatory notes were helpful. On to #letterb
Thank you @BookwormAHN for the wonderful gift 📦 💕.dear friend‘s son was hit by a drunk driver and critically injured on Sunday - little to smile about recently.. but your gift is so wonderful! stamps made me smile, candy was a lovely sweet treat. The Community coffee is going to come in handy SOON! the books are perfect - can‘t wait to start the series and I will give romance a try! Thank you so very much! Happy Valentines Day to you!
My reading time has been hard to get to. New audiobook in the car. Thank you Jackie Collins for some smutty fun commute time.
Mailed and should be delivered in 2 days!

As much as I love to read. I love to play with art supplies. These books came from the Artists Network. Can‘t wait to work the tips and the Abstract book is gorgeous.
Finished this audiobook this morning - very funny stuff!
Time to get started with #litsyclassicsatoz. Pretty sure this is not the book I picked for A - knowing myself, I will probably change my mind through all 26 letters! 😳
A friend found this collection of poetry in her mother‘s things. Certainly not the most poetic collection written - but the author was quite the cad. He “loves” and laments many women during his years as a pilot. He has a couple of other volumes on Amazon - but I probably know enough about him now!😳☺️
I have tried to screen shot the #cupidgoespostal Q and A and do the editing a couple of times and I am hopeless! So here‘s my old school way of answering the questions:
Love coffee, chocolates, bookmarks, mugs, all things paper, pen and pencil, candles, socks. My Litsy TBR is all booked I don‘t own. #notechskills
First collection of 2018. Recommended by a local Virginia Poet who I will now be indebted to for such a powerful recommendation.
Signed up for Page Habit boxes for next year. Excited about getting book packages. What‘s been everyone‘s experience with Page Habit or other services? 📚
