This varied collection of essays is a great mix.I enjoyed reading Rushdie's insight into literature, writing and creativity so much. I wasn't so keen on the individual author appraisals, but that was more mood than dislike of content. I will go back and finish those at a later date.

pickI have a few unread books by Rushdie on my shelves and for #authoramonth I dutifully pulled one off and bailed after 100 pages. Before trying a second I checked this essay collection out from the library to ensure I would finish something. Covering literature and art but also featuring pieces on his friendship with Carrie Fisher and Covid I enjoyed this deeper glimpse into the undeniably brilliant mind of an author whose books aren‘t all for me.
