First weekend off in a LONG time, so first #bookreport also in a long time!

It looks like I‘ve read loads, but a lot of them are really short.

Sigh, Gone is one of my faves of the year so far, and I was surprised to enjoy Babel.

The bottom 3 are ongoing; will probably finish Elena today. One True Loves is on audio for #aam, and just started Really Good, Actually, which seems sharply funny so far.

Cinfhen Yay for weekend off!!!! Enjoy 🥳 2d
Deblovestoread Great week! Enjoy your weekend 2d

Megabooks Interested to read what you think about 2d
Megabooks I liked it at first but she wore on me as a character. 2d
squirrelbrain I‘ll let you know @Megabooks - she‘s not annoying me yet, but I was starting to think I‘m not the ‘target market‘ for this book, not being a millennial! 2d
Megabooks Yeah, it definitely made me feel old! 2d
Megabooks Also I‘m really glad you FINALLY got a weekend off!! 💜 2d

Evidence of the Affair | Taylor Jenkins Reid

Pickpick

Thanks to @KarenUK for putting this on my #readersradar last night. (And for the #pop23 prompt! 😁) Set in the 1970s, a doctor‘s wife discovers her husband‘s affair and starts writing to the other woman‘s husband, and we also see letters between the doctor and his paramour.

It‘s only a short story / novella but still packs a punch and there‘s room for a bit of a twist too.

KarenUK Glad you enjoyed it…. And after reading this, I just found out from one of my booksellers that all her books are set in the same ‘universe‘! Apparently there‘s an overlap of a character in every book…. (In this one she mentions a Daisy Jones LP) 2d
CBee Yay for 70s babies 🙌🏻🙌🏻 2d

squirrelbrain @KarenUK - I noticed the Daisy reference. Mick Riva was also mentioned, who was in both of the other 2 TJR books that I‘ve read.(Evelyn Hugo and Malibu Rising). 2d
OriginalCyn620 On my tbr! 2d
Ruthiella I‘ve only read Daisy Jones by TJR and I didn‘t really like it. I need to give another book from her a chance. Maybe Evelyn Hugo? 🤔 (edited) 2d
squirrelbrain Yes, I would say Evelyn Hugo is the best one I‘ve read of hers @Ruthiella 2d
Cortg @Ruthiella I loved Evelyn Hugo! My favorite by her as well. 2d
Cortg I wasn‘t aware of this title, I‘ll have to check it out! 2d

One True Loves | Taylor Jenkins Reid

Contemporary romance is definitely not my genre, but I enjoyed this #LoveTriangle #AuthorAMonth. Why I do challenges!

Emma married her high school sweetheart Jesse. Together they traveled the world, but when Jesse takes a solo helicopter trip, he is lost at sea. Emma heads back home deep in grief. After a time, she reconnects with Sam and takes over her parents‘ bookstore. Miraculously Jesse survived at sea. Can one woman have two true loves?

Cinfhen Ohhhhh…. I‘m planning on this one for #AAM 😍glad to know it works for #lovetriangle 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 2d
Soubhiville Actually that may change my game plan, if it‘s good for #lovetriangle. It‘s one of the ones I haven‘t read yet 🙂📚. 2d

marleed I‘ve been looking forward to the adaptation of this ever since I saw Phillipa Soo (from Hamilton) was cast in the role of Emma. 2d

An epistolary novella, set in the seventies….. A wife of a doctor discovers the evidence of the title. As she connects with the wronged husband on the other end of the affair, a friendship forms. Told through letters between both couples, it‘s a fairly straightforward story, but the ending has a satisfying conclusion.

I @Soubhiville forgot to post my #AuthorAMonth read for January. I finished it last week. And I really liked it. I think I might have to add more Louise Erdrich to my TBR. I like finding new to me authors. Thanks @Soubhiville

#BookReport #WeeklyForecast

All finished books were picks. I bailed on Future Home, but I will finish The Birchbark House for #aam in January.
Instead of starting something new, I‘m going to return to Swan Song as I have been neglecting it since December. Totally not the books fault as I was loving it. Not sure what audio I will start next.

5feet.of.fury Did you like Lavender House? 1w
Bookzombie @5feet.of.fury Yes! I loved it! Thanks for picking it. 🙂 1w
Cinfhen I had trouble with my Erdrich books this month too. Not sure why exactly but I‘m ready to move on… 1w

Bookzombie @Reggie It has! Even though I haven‘t had as much reading time this week, I‘m thinking about it when I‘m not reading it. 2d

Bailedbailed

I‘ve been seeing this one get such amazing reviews and my hold of it finally came in so I thought I‘d try to sneak 1 more in for #AAM, but the first 100 pages aren‘t holding my interest so I‘m bailing for now, maybe I‘ll try again sometime when I‘m in a different frame of mind. @Soubhiville

tpixie I finished it because it was for a bookclub, but I didn‘t enjoy 1w
IndoorDame @tpixie that one I really liked, but it seemed to be one of those love it or hate it books 1w
LitStephanie I loved this book, but you totally should bail if something doesn't hold your interest. Just because other people think it is great doesn't mean everyone will. 1w
tpixie @IndoorDame I‘ve only seen people loving it, but it didn‘t win awards with our @litsybookclub. We loved the characters, but thought too many stories joined in the mix. Oh well! Onto the next book!! 1w
