Can somebody help me pretty please? I‘ve been keeping track of my reading time every day for #HauntedShelf but I know there‘s a bunch of readathons going on and want to claim points for that. Is there a master list of all the readathons going on? Any help would be greatly appreciated! 🤗

ShananigansReads There was one circulating before the start of October. I‘m not sure if it‘s being updated but I‘ll try to find the Google link for you. 2mo
JenlovesJT47 @ShananigansReads thank you so much! 🤗 2mo
robinb Do you follow @LitsyEvents? They do a great job of keeping up with what‘s going on. 😊 2mo
JenlovesJT47 @robinb I do, thank you! 🤗 2mo

There are a few different covers so I hope I‘ve got the right book here. I actually really enjoyed this. It‘s very much a motivational book, but I did bookmark a lot of points where I wanted to go back and write things down. I went through a phase of achievement type books and this hit the spot. I admire bear grylls a lot, the way he lives and his character, so yeah… it was for me, might not be for you, worth a try?! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Our thoughts create our world and our words indicate our thoughts. Complaining about an illness will neither shorten its duration nor lessen its severity. It is vital that we control our minds in order to re-create our lives. Watch your thoughts, for they become words.

In this book Manson argues that once we stop trying to be “happy“ all the time, and instead become extremely familiar with what deeply pains us, we will discover what truly makes us happy.
I appreciated Manson's brutal honesty and his tell-it-like-it-is attitude really spoke to me. He advocates the importance of embracing our true selves in a world obsessed with perfection.

I decided I better get my act together and read this book before I retire in a few months! I adore Sharon Salzberg and appreciate her wisdom. In this book, she teaches readers how to incorporate meditation into their work life to better cope with stressful meetings, pressing deadlines, and difficult people. ☮️

KathyWheeler I probably could have used something like this earlier in my career. 😊 A few months before I retired though, I just refused to stress about anything. I did my job, but didn‘t allow people to pressure me. 6mo
NatalieR @KathyWheeler I‘m with you! 😀 Fortunately, I‘m able to phase myself out by reducing the days I work and my workload. It‘s amazing and perfect for my mental health. 🧘🏻‍♀️ 6mo
KathyWheeler @NatalieR I had just gone back to the building after working from home during COVID, then my husband got really sick so I went back to work from home, then I decided to retire and never really went back to the building unless I had to. So I‘d sort of phased myself out in terms of a physical presence. It was great for my mental health. 6mo

NatalieR @KathyWheeler I‘m sorry your husband got sick. I‘m glad you had a peaceful end to your career. I hope you‘re enjoying retirement. 🩷 6mo
KathyWheeler @NatalieR It was so scary when he was sick; it took him more than a year to fully recover, but he‘s better now. I am enjoying retirement. ❤️ 6mo
peaKnit I‘m retiring in 6 months and I am feeling myself disengage. I like the idea of not allowing myself to be pressured. I am going to try that. Thanks! 6mo
NatalieR @KathyWheeler I‘m so happy your husband has recovered and you‘re enjoying retirement! ❤️ 6mo
NatalieR @peaKnit Congratulations! I am feeling disengaged too. Some of it is intentional. I have to learn to separate myself. It‘s going to happen soon anyway. 😅 I hope the tip works for you! 🤞 6mo

I‘ve had this one sitting on my shelf for a while. It‘s all about how small changes to your daily life & routines can make bigger changes over time. I annotated along the way, now will I remember to use the tips or make changes (I do use some of the suggestions). #bookspin

MissBlue It‘s an amazing book, I read it two years ago. Re-reading helps to sustain the changes you want to make. 7mo
