This book was seriously so cute, all of the stories were well-written, cute, diverse, and a great read. I love when google helps me find #similarbooks to read bc that's a big way I also fill my #tbr #readingresolutions #challengecatchup

A friend lent me The Distant Hours after she read The Thirteenth Tale on my recommendation—she told me she wanted me to see how similar they were. She was absolutely right! An outsider is invited into an old family house, unearthing family secrets and tragedies of the past... both books even have a mysterious set of twins. I enjoyed The Thirteenth Tale more, but that might be because I read it first! #similarbooks #readingresolutions

My meager Penguin Classics Deluxe Edition collection. Must get more! I love them! #similarbooks #readingresolutions @Jess7

DGRachel I waffled on getting that copy of Middlemarch last weekend. I read and loved it in college, but do I really need a copy that I might never get around to rereading? 6y
Melli I have that copy of Jane Austen. Lord it is hefty.. thank god I got it when I was pregnant with my 2nd child I could use my belly to rest it on when it go heavy 6y
Mindyrecycles @DGRachel and @Melli -- I'll tell you a little secret. I've read all the Austens (multiple times) in separate smaller paperbacks and I recently read MM and Les Mis on my phone using #serialreader. I bought these to hug and smell and skim and look at but I doubt I'll ever read them in these versions. They're too heavy plus I don't want to mess them up! I do hope to reread Middlemarch sometime and to listen to Juliet Stevenson narrate it. (edited) 6y
DGRachel I‘m hoping to eventually reread Les Mis as I bought this same edition a couple years ago. It‘s gorgeous. The edition I read in high school was hefty, too. 😂 6y

Has anyone else noticed a certain resemblance between two characters with dark powers?

For #similarbooks I chose some weird fiction that I love (not pictured: The Hike by Drew Magary) and to go with my weird fiction collection, here‘s an onion jar thing that is particularly weird. 😂

WanderingBookaneer Loved this book and loving the cactus lamp! 6y
jamie_in_the_library @WanderingBookaneer Thank you! Target, of course. Do you listen to the podcast as well? I‘ve never listened, but love the books 6y
WanderingBookaneer The podcast is amazing! It has me laughing aloud. 6y

Here are two pairs of #similarbooks that I recommend. If you liked The Hate U Give, then please read Dear Martin. It's similar, and it also deserves a wide audience! Dreamland Burning is historical fiction and The Killers of the Flower Moon is nonfiction but they are both about historical events in Oklahoma that I had never heard of before. And all four of these are about injustice. #ReadingResolutions @Jess7

So these are actually the two books I wanted to use for my #ReadingResolutions #SimilarBooks post but couldn‘t since I didn‘t own a copy of The Godfather until 45mins ago; so please forgive my second post for this challenge😬

Jess7 I love it—multiple posts are welcome! Lots of great #TBR RECOMMENDATIONS! 6y
TheBookgeekFrau @Jess7 Oh good! I wasn‘t sure 6y
Jess7 Yeah! No worries! It‘s just for fun—gives people something to post about daily! I love seeing all of the posts! 6y

#ReadingResolutions #SimilarBooks ?In my review of "Only Child" I mentioned that it reminded me of "Room. " Although they are about different subjects, they have similarities-both stories are told from the perspective of young boys (Jack who's 5 & Zach who's 6--hey, their names even sound similar!) both are by female authors, both books feature a horrific subject, making them tough to read but ultimately hopeful, & both books are very good. ?❤️

Jess7 Ohhh I definitely want to read One Child then! 6y
JenReadsAlot I just picked up Only Child from the library tonight! 6y
DebinHawaii @Jess7 @JenReadsAlot I really thought it was good--a tough read but really good.💔❤️ 6y
ephemeralwaltz Ooh nice - I haven't read Only Child and I'm very interested in child narrators. 6y

This is an sample of my stream-of-consciousness book shelving system: in my mind, theses books belong beside one another as #similarbooks and I particularly like them in this order! I can't be the only one, can I?
