This is a fun, unique retrospective of the history of the snowman; unfortunately, it is quite flawed and would have been great if a little more thought went into the editing. The reverse time progression is only vaguely explained, and the pictures are placed way before or way after the text that discusses them. Still an interesting read. ⬇️

TieDyeDude Also, the author writes as though the information presented was thoroughly researched, but the references and quotes are not cited, so, since it is marked as a humor book, it is often confusing whether the facts are real or fake 🤷 1mo

Tamra Enjoy!! With the advent of online Ed, my kids don‘t get snow days anymore! 😭 They were one of the delights of childhood. 2mo

TheBookHippie @Tamra yah my high schooler has to check but my grandson who is 8 does not -my daughter is admin assistant at the middle school and is working from home today. But so far my son has had nothing he‘s quite pleased! 2mo
TheBookHippie @Jensol77 On the lake just north of Chicago in Michigan we get a particular large amount of snowfall which is late this year it‘s usually snowing Halloween. Typically once NOVEMBER hits the teen numbers we have snow days. April is usually the latest for snow days. Our k-5 get full snow days 6-12 have to check their chrome books, however most teachers don‘t assign a thing. 2mo
Tamra @TheBookHippie yay! I think they should have a few snow days. ⛄️ 2mo
TheBookHippie @Tamra I agree it‘s such a good mental health break! 2mo

“A snowman!“ at the end of the book we get to see what she created! It is so funny and surprising for kids who are not really putting it all together.

This book is funny and cute for the season and for kids to enjoy. I think this is a good book for kids to predict what she will swallow next and the common phrases throughout the book. I could see doing a fun activity with it as well, draw each thing she swallows to see if kids can predict what she will make at the end.

There Was a Cold Lady Who Swallowed Some Snow!, Lucille Colandro, 2003. We watch a lady swallow all sorts of different objects and at the end of the book, we realize what she was doing and trying to make!

#ArtfulAugust Day 28: #SnowyCover from inimitable Briggs who recently passed away. The art in this children‘s classic evokes so many powerful emotions, it warms the heart while you simultaneously feel the chill as you flip through the snowy pages. My review: https://wp.me/pDlzr-10a
