Olive, Again | Elizabeth Strout
post image

Read as an end to the #SummersEndReadathon and forgot to post the review 🤦🏻‍♀️
I haven‘t read the prequel to this book but I enjoyed Olive, Again. This collection of strouds is set in Crosby, Maine and has either as the main or a peripheral/onlooker character, Olive Ketteridge. The stories show regular people caught in their own struggles, daily events, and power dynamics in different relationships. The stories have a sad undercurrent.#Netgalley

Thanks to #24B4Monday and #SummersEndReadathon (hosted by the always awesome @TheReadingMermaid @Andrew65 and @Clwojick respectively) August was my second-best reading month this year!

4 DNFs (but some new space on the shelves)
23 books finished
5306 pages!

One of my goals for the remainder of the year is to hit 100,000 pages on the Litfluence counter, which is about 9k pages. At this rate it should happen Oct-Nov.

TheReadingMermaid Awesome job sweetheart!!! 🌟😎🌟 3mo

#August #WrapUp
August came in at 14 books read:
Children‘s: 8
Nonfiction: 5
I made progress on my Dr. Seuss challenge. The funniest book was How to Tell If Your Cat Is Trying To Kill You! The worst book was Mostly Dead Things. Gulp was an interesting read, but it‘s not for the squeamish.
#summersendreadathon came in with a total of eight (which I forgot to post on Friday).

merelybookish Wow! Good job. I read that Ferrante title a few years back. It still haunts me! 3mo
mhillis @merelybookish Thanks, I have to admit I only chose that book because it was short! Leda‘s actions shocked me sometimes during the story. Haunting is definitely the word for this one! 3mo
IndoorDame Great week!! 3mo

#Summersendreadathon wrap up: I finished the three books I was currently reading (pictured along the bottom). I also finished the tag book on audio and started the book underlined in the photo.

Thank you for hosting a great readathon, @Clwojick ! I‘m sorry I didn‘t get in as much participation the last couple of days.

Clwojick Thanks so much for joining! I‘m glad you were able to get through a handful of books. ♥️ 3mo

#SummersEndReadathon - EndGame: I didn‘t accomplish any additional reading after last Sunday. I was still sick, but I returned to work on Monday and battled it out for the week. Unfortunately, in the evening after work all I was able to do was chase after sleep. I enjoyed spending time with these 3 books: Agatha Christie never disappoints. Chief Inspector Armand Gamache - what took me so long to make your acquaintance? A Passion for Books - Yes!

JSW Hope you‘re on the mend soon!!! 3mo

August has been a fantastic reading month for me. With the #HSreadathon running all month, then the #24in48 plus #SummersEndReadathon & #24B4Monday it‘s been a bounty of reading! All up I‘ve completed 27(there‘s an audiobook of A Discovery Of Witches I forgot to add)& 1 started book(Darkdawn). Choosing a fave is tough, it‘s a tossup between The Dakota Winters, If We Were Villians, To Be Taught If Fortunate & The Woman In Black. #AugustWrapUp

Technically finished this last night for #SummersEndReadathon, but forgot to post... So totally fine if this post can't be counted, @Clwojick! ☺

I read this book in one day (I'm off work on Fridays), which I rarely have time to do. Taylor Jenkins Reid has become an auto-read author for me now. I loved how Evelyn was so lovable & so hateable at the same time! So good!

So total time is around 38 hours (lost a bit of time when my phone restarted 😕). Finished 3 (albeit short) books and put a lot of progress into a few others. I call that a success 😎
