* “The End“ was used in Francis Ford Coppola's 1979 film Apocalypse Now, both in the opening sequence and during the climactic scene.
* Director Martin Scorsese once used the song in a sex scene montage in his early student film Who's That Knocking at My Door (1968).
* The song was used in Oliver Stone's 1991 film The Doors, where it plays while the band takes LSD in the desert.

One of the greatest debut albums ever, released OTD in 1967. I‘ve picked up about five copies of this record—from first pressings to reissues—but how could you have too many? Besides being the leather-clad Lizard King who fronted the Doors, Jim Morrison was also a compelling poet, and his verse is worth exploring if you‘ve ever been intrigued by his luscious twisted lyrics. #music #records #vinyl #thedoors

My eyes have seen you
Free from disguise
Gazing on a city under
#Television skies

My eyes have seen you
Let them photograph your soul
Memorize your alleys
On an endless roll

Maria514626 Jim Morrison is so fascinating. I read this ages ago and still remember a lot of it. 1y

I've read a few books on Jim Morrison/The Doors, this one being my favourite; there's interviews with family and friends who knew Morrison behind the wildness and drunkenness.

"People try to hide their pain. But they‘re wrong. Pain is something to carry, like a radio. You feel your #strength in the experience of pain. It‘s all in how you carry it. That‘s what matters. Pain is a feeling. Your feelings are a part of you. Your own reality. If you feel ashamed of them, and hide them, you‘re letting society destroy your reality. You should stand up for your right to feel your pain.” #QuotsyJuly18 (not from tagged book)

A day late in Oz but I only saw it when I was eating breakfast & looking at Litsy this morning.
1. The CountryLink train that covers the east coast of Oz. It‘s great because after 12 you can have a wine. I also ❤️ the laidback attitude on the 1 from England to France. 2. Somewhere near the beach with a book. 3. So far this year I have been to New Zealand, next month it‘s France as well as China then Port Douglas Qld in the Spring school holidays.

ju.ca.no you have awsome travel plans😍 2y
LapReader Normally I don‘t go away this much. Probably one overseas trip a year then a couple of weekends away in Australia. It is fantastic to be able to this year. My bank is the only one not excited about it @ju.ca.no 2y
ju.ca.no @LapReader haha I know that problem 🙈 but it is money well spent! It‘s amazing to see this much of the world 😍😍 2y
