Duke and I | Julia Quinn

Reread thanks to #audibleescape and I still love The Bridgerton family so much. I am really looking forward to the tv series! #romantsy #tvadaptation

Good Omens | Gaiman, Neal

Please be good, please be good, PLEASE be good! I should trust David Tennant and Michael Sheen, but you never know. #favoritebook #goodomens #tvadaptation

QueenJen Neil Gaiman helped, I'd that counts for anything....😉 8mo
Swe_Eva @QueenJen And, as it turns out, did a fantastic job. It's absolutely brilliant! 💜💜💜 8mo

Apparently there‘s a movie! My cousins kids liked the book when they were younger.

#MayLovesClassics #TVadaptation
Some of my fellow litsy friends may not be old enough to remember this brilliant 1970's adaptation of an equally excellent book which i immediately read straight after the programme - I've never seen it repeated so don't know if would stand the test of time but id like to read the book again as i recall it was a moving look at the effects of ww1.

Kaye I‘ve never seen the show, but read the book many years ago. Really good story ! 2y

I‘m going to take a leap of faith and predict that I will fall in love with this new #tvadaptation of one of my favorite books to teach. Anyone else watching this tomorrow night? 🔥📚👨‍🚒

LeeRHarry Thanks for the reminder - it‘s on at the end of the month here in Aus but I‘ve added it to my planner! 😊 2y

Little House on the Prairie | Laura Ingalls Wilder, Garth Williams
post image

I loved the Little House on the Prairie Books, so I was an avid watcher of the #tvadaptation series, especially in the later years when captioning became available and there were more cute guys on the show, like Albert (Matthew Labyorteaux) ☺️.

Moray_Reads I have fond memories of watching this when we used to visit my grandparents on a Sunday ♥️ 2y
Cathythoughts Ahhhhh ! Happy days 2y
LeahBergen Did you lip-read the series you watched when you were young? What year did captioning come in? I‘m just curious (and I hope you don‘t mind 😘). 2y

ValerieAndBooks @Moray_Reads you‘re lucky you got to see your grandparents that often 💖 2y
Moray_Reads @ValerieAndBooks I think about it a lot, I used to cry when we left every week! Sadly my younger siblings don't remember our visits add my Grandma died when I was seven. She did enjoy Little House though! 2y
ValerieAndBooks @LeahBergen I don‘t mind questions at all! Reading lips from TV or movie screens is Very Hard due to the 2-D quality so I often asked my family what was happening. Close caption equipment became availablein 1980 ($199 from Sears, a lot of $ back then) and even then not all shows would be CC. Built-in CC started to be required for new TVs in about 1995 — by that time most first-aired shows were CC. Now we need to make movies more accessible! (edited) 2y
ValerieAndBooks @Moray_Reads aww 💖 I‘m glad you have good memories 💖 2y
LeahBergen @ValerieAndBooks $199 certainly WAS expensive back then! And we didn‘t have the pause or rewind features on live shows like we do now. 😮 Did you obsessively watch The Donnie and Marie show like I did? 😆 I never cared so much about their music - it was more about Marie‘s outfits and hair. Alias Grace: A Novel | Margaret Atwood
post image

I know I've posted about it before, but I found the Netflix miniseries of Atwood's book to be a masterpiece & flawless (with the exception of Anna Paquin's acting). Definitely one of my favorite #tvadaptation
@Sarah83 @Bambolina_81

Kimberlone Sarah Gadon‘s performance 💯 enigmatic as Grace 2y
StillLookingForCarmenSanDiego I'm going to have to give this another try. I watched the first episode and didn't care for it. But so many ppl seem to have enjoyed it.. I loved the book though. 2y
vivastory @Kimberlone I can't wait to see her in other movies. She was such a natural! 2y

Kimberlone @vivastory she was also great in the Hulu adaptation of 11.22.63, although she‘s more of a side character, she gets her due 2y
vivastory @Kimberlone I'll definitely be checking that out. Want to read it first. Might make that my next King! 2y
AlaMich I didn‘t read the book but I thought the mini-series was excellent. But you‘re right, what the heck was up with Anna Paquin? 2y
BiblioLitten I enjoyed reading the book! 2y
Tamra I enjoyed it too! 2y
erzascarletbookgasm I‘ve not watched it 🙂 One of my TBW (To Be Watched) 2y
ephemeralwaltz Awesome! Currently reading this and will definitely watch the show after. 2y

Emma | Austen Jane
post image

My favourite #tvadaptation of Emma is the version with Romola Garai. Emma has a too high opinion of herself, which makes it hard to like her, but I thought the tv movie did a good job showing that she and other important characters lost their mothers early and still had to deal with the consequences of that loss years later.

Moray_Reads It's strange, the first time I watched this I didn't like it at all. Now I love it! 2y
PickwickPlockPlock @Moray_Reads When I first watched it I was a bit irritated in the beginning, because it felt different and wasn't what I had expected. 2y

Forsyte Saga - Complete | John Galsworthy

I ❤️ the old black-and-white Masterpiece version of the tagged book (although this picture of the cast is too early in the series to include the adorable Susan Hampshire as Fleur). #tvadaption #tvadaptation #maylovesclassics #litsyclassicshost
