Beautiful fall day/walk listening to this excellent book!

Interesting and informative. Lots of fascinating details. I read this slowly over the course of several months, one State at a time. Now I know that the shapes of the States are not nearly as random as they seem!

I can‘t believe it‘s that time of year again! What should the #hashtagbrigade read next year? We read chapter a day, and we can spread any book over a couple months, so don‘t be afraid to nominate a longer book. I‘ll hold the nominations for a couple weeks, and then open up the voting.

Let‘s try this again…I started this one in May and had to put it down. With end of school and graduation for my oldest, I didn‘t have the headspace for it. But, I love this author, so here we go again! It‘s my May #doublespin pick.
It‘s also on my #10beforetheend list.

Great read for children on how people pick and elect the president of the United States!

Happy Indigenous People‘s Day. The map of WV lands courtesy of an interactive map on savetheboundarywaters.com . Braiding Sweetgrass is a non fiction book I love and thanks to #lpmbc I read Love After The End- a book I absolutely loved and recommend. The third book was read by a local book club and recommended so i bought it this weekend. Please consider sharing your favorite books by Indiginous authors #Indiginouspeoplesday

I enjoyed this book, but the author definitely had some biases that came out strong.
This book covers the history of propaganda and lols at how and why Americans in particular are more susceptible to propaganda. I do appreciate that the author ends books on the positive note about libraries and their possible role in giving people the space they need to escape propaganda.
3/5 read but remember to check the sources yourself

I wanted to take a moment to pay homage to Portlanders who, instead of being cowed by a dictator, embraced their first amendment right to peaceful assembly and continued protesting, but in costume, to prove the lie to their city being “war ravaged.” I cannot think of a better response. I love their creativity and stance for their, and our, rights.

6 months later, I have finished April's #Bookspin🤦♀️. This is the 2nd book I have tandem-read with my husband, but it will be the last chunkster we read together. The infrequently with which he is willing to sit down and read with me dragged this one out way too long. We'll be sticking with short ones from now on 😂. I enjoy Erik Larson's books, but this one was a bit drawn out for me. Too much minutiae, but still a solid pick. @TheAromaofBooks
