Finished this book in basically one sitting. I read here on Litsy that the publisher used the hashtag #WTFthatending to publicize this book and...YES. So fitting! Overall I really enjoyed this one. Unreliable narrators are my jam and this did not disappoint on that front. Good pacing as well. And #WTFthatending! The last 5 pages are mind blowing with a super interesting twist. Two thumbs up.

This was not an enjoyable read for me. I felt too overtly manipulated by the author and was frustrated with the mediocre writing and the hooks left at the end of each chapter. I'm coming to realise that these psychological suspense novels are not for me. I know lots of people who would enjoy this but I didn't care for it and the #wtfthatending was an anticlimax.

Blerg. Just didn't do it for me. Won't give anything away here, but spoiler bar in the comments if you're interested. #unpopularopinion

rachelm First off, the blurbs about "oh the twist!!!!" were the only thing that kept me reading, so my expectations were artificially raised. Second, I think I've read too many sleep-related thrillers lately because they're losing their appeal. The whole lucid dreaming thing, okay. The bodiless floating thing? A little too convenient a trope to hang the whole plot on. 8y

MyNamesParadise @rachelm the lucid dreaming didn't bother me either- it was outside the box but not a complete turn off and then the switching bodies like its freaky Friday?!? No just NO 8y

Mimi28 I bought the book just because of the hype and only got a few pages in and set it aside. The relationship was so grim from the first page. 8y

Hooked_on_books I enjoyed it but had no expectations going in and very much suspended reality. I totally get your reaction. 8y

Gonna give it an overall thumbs up, but I was bothered by the unbelievable stupidity of the main character and the (more than one case of) INSTA-LOVE. The hype and marketing around this book serves it well. Trying to figure out #wtfthatending was fun. Had I gone into it not expecting something nuts, I might have gone crazy with the characters' repetitive destructive behavior and outlandish ending. Alas, it WAS fun...

Great thriller! I finished it yesterday in a frenzy since I had almost all day to read. And of course that ending 😱. I did saw the first twist coming when I was halfway through, there were so many clues since the beginning. But not the one in the last chapter! #wtfthatending
