Heartbreakingly beautiful. I fell in love with the writing - the descriptions and Joy‘s inner monologue. It was such a beautiful book, and I felt all of Joys emotions as if they were my own.

This was a wonderful book and it‘s really going to stick with me for a while. Now I need to read more of both of their works!

I found this set of short stories less enjoyable than the first. In particular, the story about the mermaid made me lose interest. However I did love the last two stories and was reminded of how much I loved the first set when I read them. I‘m excited to start the first full novel of the series!

There were some beautiful pages in here, that I tended to reread a few times. Like when Death appears in human form. I won‘t spoil any more than that!

So at first, I wasn‘t a huge fan of this one. I just wasn‘t able to fall in love with these characters the way I did in the other books. Janet is too naive for her own good, Ewen was too hard-headed and straight up rude. The two of them together - I just felt like they were attacking each other more than falling in love. I didn‘t fully believe the relationship.
But around the last 1/4 of the book,I started to like the story like I did the others.

I was so happy to have found that The Witcher show originated from books! I love reading a series when I have a soundtrack to listen to at the same time. It completely transports you.

I really loved that these were a series of short stories. It kept the pace of the book going strong throughout. I‘m really looking forward to reading the next one, which is also a series of short stories!

I definitely recommend this to fantasy lovers! ❤️

I loved this book from beginning to end! The characters were a little naive, and some of the dialogue was a bit cheesy. But sometimes I really love the story enough that I don‘t care too much about those faults! I am definitely going to read the others in the series! Even if I wasn‘t a fan of Angus!

Okay, I have read the the other two, but I ended up going right into the next books and by the time I remembered to write a review, I forgot all the details of them. I know I really loved The Saint - it might be my favourite up to date from this series.

But I also completely fell in love with this story. So much tension! The story started off with our “hero” being rather obnoxious and I wasn‘t sure I would like the story but he quickly changes.

The sequel to The Bride! I was so happy to get to read about the characters I liked from the first book, and at the same time find another romance. There was lots here to keep me captivated and I found I read this really fast because I couldn‘t put it down!

I liked Saving Grace better, but this was still a great read. Im now convinced I need to read every Julie Garwood highland romance !

I completely devoured this entire book!! It quickly became one of my top 5 books of all time. I‘m so in love with romance novels right now and this one takes the cake. I thought the story was well thought out and the relationship between the two characters was just fantastic. They said all the right things and I just truly fell in love with the words on the page.

Highly highly recommend for romance lovers and lovers of Outlander!

I think this is one of my favourite books. It all just came together so perfectly in the end. I genuinely didn‘t know how/if the conflicts of this story were going to get solved. I read the last half like lightening because I couldn‘t put it down!! This is definitely a “love” from me!

This was the second book in The Highland Guard series. I really liked it! The way she writes her Highlanders is perfection - I can‘t describe it any better than that. The story itself is good, and kept the tension going. But I do love (spoiler) when characters finally break the barrier that‘s been holding them apart for 300-400 pages. It‘s so satisfying!

I loved this book!! At times I found the characters a little hard to relate with - they would feel one way yet their words would express another and it was a little frustrating. But the story was so compelling to me, I found it hard to put down! The characters eventually give in to their love of one another and I loved how they got along after that!

One thing that bugs me about the cover is the split of the word “spellbinding” -drives me nuts! 😂

I both read and listened to this book. I loved the look of the book so of course I had to have both the physical copy and the audiobook!

The book itself was a little slow getting into, but around the time when Michelle meets Barack, it gets really interesting! I loved getting an insight to this woman‘s amazing story!

The book has wonderful coloured pictures, and I definitely recommend the audiobook, to hear it in her voice. Get both!!

Allylu I LOVED listening to her tell her story. I feel as if I know her so much better now and I respect her immensely. She is such a good role model! 5y

I was excited to read this book! It captured my interest immediately, and kept me captivated the entire time. Usually I get to a point in a book where I need to force myself to keep reading, to get to the more exciting parts of the story - usually around the beginning/middle, but that was not the case with this book.

I‘ve already bought the second one and can‘t wait to dive in to the next part of this story!

I‘m not afraid to say that I loveeed this book! When I read books, I‘m always most intrigued by the love stories. It‘s so nice that this entire book was about the characters emotions and complicated relationship. With a happily ever after. It was just a feel-good book that kept me interested the entire time. I think I‘m hooked on books with hunky highlanders on them too.

I‘m currently going through “droughtlander” and this helped me through it!

I really enjoyed the beginning and the end of this book! The middle was a little slow, but it was worth it for the ending. Sometimes it was a little hard to follow, but all in all I think it was a really nice, cozy, winter-read.

This book started out making me really uncomfortable. The author certainly does not hold back any descriptions or shy away from any subjects. After I got over myself, I came to see it as a strength in an author to be completely honest in the storytelling. The ending was unexpected and worth reading through the whole thing. I bought this book because of the unbelievably beautiful cover - i did not expect the story inside!

I thought this book was interesting at some parts, but overall it got kinda boring. A lot of it was talking about her affair with Harrison. The other half was about how annoying her fans are. It was an interesting insight, but I was ready for it to end about halfway through.

Ugh this book broke my heart. I found it incredibly addicting and read it in 4 days. I'm really into books that pull at your heart strings. A great love story. I'm not sure if I want to continue with the series - as I loved this one the way it was and don't want to know what happens after him.

I'm open to any recommendations!

I quite liked this book. It was on my TBR for over a year and I am finally starting to break into that pile. I thought that this novel created a great atmosphere and a great escape. But I was disappointed with the ending. Most of the women in this book were all described as incredibly beautiful which got a little annoying. But I did really enjoy reading from the main character's perspective. I liked him.

I absolutely loved this book! It was a page turner that pulled at all of my heart strings. I found myself rooting for two sides of a story. Nobody was the "bad guy" - everyone had a heartbreaking story.
The writing itself was okay - but the strong part of this book is the story itself. Beautiful.

I thought this book was absolutely fantastic. It kept me interested the entire time. It's heartbreaking, and beautiful. I read this by recommendation and I'm happy to say I was not disappointed. Every sentence was written with purpose. I admire this author and can't wait for her next book!

I like the idea of it, and the descriptions she gives are quite lovely. But I found the characters to all be very similar and it made for the main characters to blend in when you might think they should stand out.

I really only enjoyed this book for the atmosphere it created - the story was rather dull and the characters lacked individuality.

I hate to say I didn't like this book, but I just didn't find it appealing. I did like the main character, he was interesting. But there's no real climax - it just sort of ends. I'm a sucker for a good ending and I felt like this was really lacking for me. I'm not sure why it's so highly recommended. Maybe I'm missing something!

I have to say - this book quickly became my favourite in the series. The story was fantastic and kept going for the entire 1400+ pages! I liked this one SO much better than The Fiery Cross, and I'm hoping the 7th one is just as good as this one! Highly, highly recommend! (But make sure you read the others first)

I found the overall information of this book to be useful, and motivated me to get my shit together (as was intended). However the humour/curse words seemed a little too forced. Other than that, it was an okay read.

I really liked this book! However, I think I loved it because I listened to the audio book. The book was made 10 times better because of how it was said, not necessarily what was said. His humour is in his personality which is better expressed through his voice than the words themselves. I would recommend the audio book!

overlyattachedreader Great point about the audio! I read this one and enjoyed it, but it wasn't as laugh-out-loud funny for me as it seems to be for audio listeners. I have terrible comic delivery in my head! 😂 7y

This book was slow at the beginning, but started to pick up around page 600 or so! The ending was good, but not as strong as the other books. I did like how intimate Jamie and Claire's relationship got again, but the ending just wasn't epic like I have come to expect from these books. Overall I was a little disappointed, but that won't stop me from finishing the series!

I absolutely fell in love with the show, and so I originally had skipped this to see what happened after the first book ended. I have no regrets, Dragonfly in Amber was my favourite book so far. You definitely should read the first book of course, (I'm not crazy or anything). However I feel that the Jamie in the first book is different than in the rest of the series. But, overall, I absolutely adore the escape that Gabaldon has given her readers!
