I devoured the last half of this book. From beginning to end it was a tragic story. From Sashenka's mother, to the irony of Soviet parties at dachas, to Sashenka's fate. Overall, I'd recommend to historical fiction lovers and Russian history lovers

"Do not be sad Sam. You cannot always be torn in two. You will have to be one and whole, for many years. You have so much to enjoy and to be, and to do"

I am heart broken that my first journey with Tolkien is over. But that's the magic of books. I'm I can return to Middle Earth when I need it the most.

Finished this before work this morning. I'd definitely recommend it! Although it's quite unsettling, and I did have a bit of trouble sleeping while reading. All of this was to be expected because of the a) material and b) my intense imagination

So, as most of you know, I listen to the unexplained podcast and I recently listened to the episode about the Dyatlov Pass incident. I can honestly say I have never been so unsettled yet so intrigued by a real life mystery. So, naturally I went out and bought the book mentioned in the podcast

Fast paced and good dialogue. Intense, but with a subject matter like this, of course it would be. 3.5/5

The Age of Bowie | Paul Morley

As a kid, and up until recently, I never really listened to David Bowie. My parents weren't fans, so I wasn't exposed to him as a child. And growing up, although I liked his singles, I never delved in deeper. Although I always liked the idea of his music and his image, I never made the effort. Then, he passed away. I felt like a fraud suddenly, wanting to listen to his music. But a friend said: it's never too late to start to listen to Bowie

PICK PICK PICK. As a fantasy reader I am ashamed to admit that this is my first journey with Tolkien. I tried in grade 8 and ultimately failed. However, I'm a firm believer that books come into people's lives when they are ready and I'm really glad I got to experience this series now. To say that this series will be my favourite is probably an understatement and I cannot wait to read the next one.

Dare I say that LOTR has become my all time favourite fantasy series? I'm ashamed to admit that I'm an avid fantasy reader but have never read LOTR. I am so in love it hurts #LOTR #fantasy

I don't delve into non genre fiction very often but this was a mild surprise. I really enjoyed the writer/lit mag story line and how each character was very distinctive. I found the ending somewhat anti climatic but overall an average book. 3.5/5
