I'm just a few chapters in, but already loving Diana Glyer's The Company They Keep, an examination of the Inklings as a community of writers. The book is executed masterfully, well organized and filled to the brim with fascinating details. Glyer weaves a compelling tale of how these men influenced each other, and even delves into the nature of influence itself. Can't wait to keep reading!

It's been years since I read any of the Emily trilogy, and I'm so glad I picked it up again. Emily stands in stark contrast to Montgomery's more famous heroine, Anne (whom I also love dearly). I appreciate that Emily's personality and story line are a bit more up front about the sometimes-harsh realities of life. If you're a writer or a weaver of fancies, or if you like turn-of-the-century writing, I'd recommend this.

Finished this today and man, I'm just always in awe of Tolkien's skill as a translator. Listening to the audiobook brought this home even more, because it allows you to truly experience the musicality of the words! Also we can't forget that Pearl and Sir Orfeo are included in this edition. I think Sir Orfeo is one of my favs... I'm glad the ending is different than the Greek version. 😉

Just been listening to Tolkien's translation of Sir Gawain, but I wanted to take a picture of the physical book so here is another edition 😂. Plus how about that cover art?!

I just love how Tolkien brings this tale into modern English! He does such a wonderful job of making it engaging and understandable, while preserving the feel of the original poem's alliterative verse. 👏
