Interesting. I need to read the original Flow and look more into Csikszentmihalyi. I love hearing research on human happiness and habits.

This is very good so far and very timely. She shows the experience of a young woman refugee from Gutemala as her life intertwines with a refugee from Chile and the son of a Jewish refugee.

Looking forward to another fun Flavia DeLuce mystery. I do love the narrator on the audio books but I'm going hardcover with this one. Watied until December to read it because it takes place then. 🎄📖

Some light fiction to go along with my nonfiction. Wish I had read this as a kid. I would have loved it. It was published when I was 2, in 1990.

Just started this. Very interesting so far. The author is both archeologist and a weaver so she can explain both the anthropological and technical aspects of it.

Listening on audio at work today for 6 hours. Engrossing. Two hours to go!

Wonderful! Very magical. Especially after suffering depression, I enjoy having joy and enjoyable things described. This book does that wonderfully. And I love how many women characters there were and how they all liked each other and supported each other.

I love this cover. I'm very interested in the human capacity for joy and our ways of bringing it about and expressing it. Also, in community. So this book is right up my alley.

Magical Ink World

I just finished this and can't wait to read the third. I'm listening on audiobook, but bought these lovely used hardcovers for my shelf.

Currently reading the left two on audio via Libby, even though I have these hardcovers. I listen while I work. And reading the third in person, lol. Also, Inkspell on Libby.

This was a nice mystery, not disturbing. I have a feeling I shall like the next one even more! And I love this hardcover with no dust jacket!!

New boyfriend and I have been reading A People's History to each other. Also, read some of this book about New Orleans before we met my childhood friend there/MS for a little vacation. I'm 4 books behind on my goodreads challenge!

They want to ban this treasure?! I learned more from this book than in my first 14 years of schooling and it made me feel proud to be American for the first time in my life! Because the rebels in the book were Americans who forced the government to make things more just.
