The narrator sounds like Casey Cassem, but in a bad way. I just started listening. Hopefully it will become normal after a while.

I grew up watching Sonia Manzano as Maria on Sesame Street and love her. I also love that she reads the audiobook.

Interesting. I need to read the original Flow and look more into Csikszentmihalyi. I love hearing research on human happiness and habits.

This is very good so far and very timely. She shows the experience of a young woman refugee from Gutemala as her life intertwines with a refugee from Chile and the son of a Jewish refugee.

Looking forward to another fun Flavia DeLuce mystery. I do love the narrator on the audio books but I'm going hardcover with this one. Watied until December to read it because it takes place then. 🎄📖

Excellent on every level. Must read. Moving, heartbreaking, inspiring. What an amazing person. What amazing people in her life. I admire her and aim to someday be half the organizer she is.

Some light fiction to go along with my nonfiction. Wish I had read this as a kid. I would have loved it. It was published when I was 2, in 1990.

Just started this. Very interesting so far. The author is both archeologist and a weaver so she can explain both the anthropological and technical aspects of it.

I use this site too infrequently. Also I've been reading too many audio books on Libby at work, so they're not as photogenic...

Wonderful! Very magical. Especially after suffering depression, I enjoy having joy and enjoyable things described. This book does that wonderfully. And I love how many women characters there were and how they all liked each other and supported each other.

Liatrek Nice review 😊 this has been on my TBR pile for a long time. Im hoping to read it this year. 6y
DebinHawaii Excellent review! Like @Liatrek I have had this one in my #TBR stack for far too long. 📚📚😬📚📚📚 6y

I love this cover. I'm very interested in the human capacity for joy and our ways of bringing it about and expressing it. Also, in community. So this book is right up my alley.

I just finished this and can't wait to read the third. I'm listening on audiobook, but bought these lovely used hardcovers for my shelf.

Currently reading the left two on audio via Libby, even though I have these hardcovers. I listen while I work. And reading the third in person, lol. Also, Inkspell on Libby.

This book was recommended to me because my bf of 8.5 years left me in January. Thank god, he is alive and healthy. I don't want to go through what Sanberg is going through. But its similar. I think think book will.be helpful, even though i already have very good coping skills.

The Thirteenth Tale: A Novel | Diane Setterfield
post image

"He put an arm around me. "I know" he said. "I know." He didn't know of course. Not really. And yet that was what he said, and I was soothed to hear it. For I knew what he meant. We all have our sorrows, and although the exact delineaments, weight and dimensions of grief are different for everyone, the color of grief is common to us all. "I know" he said because he was human, and therefore, in a way, he did."

This is printed in rust ink. The previous one in the series was in blue ink. I put the bookmark here for comparison, because i felt like it was hard to see in the other pictures i took. It's not difficult to read. Pretty cool.

Carla Only once; I have a copy of The Life and Adventures of Santa Claus, and it's completely printed in green ink. 7y
JacquelynLovesYou Oh, cool. I wonder why they chose to do that. I guess green is Christmassy and blue is oceany, but its weird because it's so uncommon. 7y

They want to ban this treasure?! I learned more from this book than in my first 14 years of schooling and it made me feel proud to be American for the first time in my life! Because the rebels in the book were Americans who forced the government to make things more just.
