Such a fun book! So much anthro in this story, it makes my little academic ♥️ dance. In this adventure politics both royal and international have deep consequences on Isabelle‘s journey, her son and his governess join the adventure, and she gets to travel much of the world in search of dragons. Fun writing, great story, and a really interesting world. 4.5/5 stars, this is defiantly a series I know I will reread.
I‘m sorry to say that I don‘t have the next two in the series so I‘ll have to read them later 💁🏼♀️📖🙌🏽
4/5⭐ As impressive as the worldbuilding is, I often found the political plotlines tedious. What saved the book is that it is basically about two scholars romping around the world being adorably and mutually enthusiastic, respectful, and wholly supportive of each other's respective nerdoms, which is an absolute delight. Suhail had BETTER show up significantly in the rest of the series.
It is remarkable what children will accept as normal, especially when their experiences have been sufficiently broad.
Light escapism.
Dragons and sea island adventures. I enjoyed it.
It's ships and sails in book 3 of this faux memoir series. This time Lady Trent is off on a two year journey aboard The Basilisk to study dragons both flying and seafaring in the tropics. As always, more adventure catches up with Lady Trent than she originally planned and she's ended up with some great stories to share from this part of her life. I'm sad that there are only two more books to go in this series.
On the one hand, the number of times Isabella just stumbles into... well, I won't spoiler and this observation applies to so many things -- the amount and nature of the trouble she always gets into is almost too much. Almost. These books are always wildly entertaining to me; I could eat them up with a spoon.
The only problem with swaps are they put you in bookstores! #momentofweakness #sffs

This one was easier 🤣🤣🤣
Another awesome book in this fantastic series! I love getting to explore this world and all its various locales and peoples. The spin on our own Victorian history is amazing and the little details that parallel our history is just lovely. Can't wait to read the next one!
Another great book in an incredible series. I am getting sucked further and further into these books and truly enjoying each one. Plus this edition was printed in blue ink! I have never read a book printed in colored ink and I found the experience delightful!
OMG I‘m so excited they have dragon turtles 🐢 😝😍😍❤️😋 love it
Love the covers for this series great reads as well starting number 3 😋📖
Soooo gooood! This series just keeps getting better!
The third volume in this series and it continues to delight. I find myself so invested in the characters, the world, the fate of the dragons who are threatened by new advancements in technology. Isabella is an amazing heroine, smart, passionate, and I can't seem to stop reading her adventures!
Omg, I'm on to the third book in the series and it's entirely printed in blue ink, I have no idea why but I love it 😍
Met one of my #summerreading goals today. Such bliss to soak up the sun next to some water - while reading about dragons, no less! 🏖 Not pictured but instrumental: the FAB shark tote that @bitterbear sent me in our #summersantagoespostal. Perfect beach bag - thanks again!!!
This whole series is just delightful. A pseudo-Victorian society where dragons are just like any other animal, and this kick-ass feminist scientist travels around the world to study them. Super fun, and apparently super comfy too 🙄
I finally finished it!! I started my new job and it took some time for me to adjust to the schedule. This book was great. I love this series. I'm going to have to buy the entire set--in hardback as this one got a little banged up in its travels in my purse.
Time for the next adventure of lady Trent! I just want to say, I absolutely adore these covers!
Marie Brennan's Lady Isabella Trent books are the prettiest books.
I don't know if you can tell from the picture, but this book is printed in entirely blue ink! I don't know why. I've never seen anything lile it, have you?
Having a hard time focusing because my attention is split between these three books.
Does anyone else find some pinterest posts, like this one, to be really classist and abelist?
I cannot get over how gorgeous the covers are in The Lady Trent Memoirs! I am definitely living through these books. How amazing would it be the forefront of knowledge about a mysterious species?!? I can definitely do without the #swamps in #mouleen though. #dragons #naturalhistory
I just adore this series. Victorian-esque feel, dragons, a female protagonist who doesn't particularly enjoy the proprietary rules that govern their society. This series feels wonderfully realistic, which I love. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ of 5.
So, how many library cards are too many library cards??? As Kady from mean girls says "the limit does not exist!" ?
"I had rather face wild beasts and diseases than the perils of civilization."
Beach reading! Finally getting on with this lovely series.
