pickThis came highly recommended & a must read & it did not disappoint! It was really cool to learn about The Sith, & where Maul & Palpatine came from!
pickThe Thrawn trilogy was amazing! Made me really love & respect the characters of Thrawn & I was fascinated by his intelligence & coolness!
pickDoctor Aphra is such a cool character! It‘s like Lara Croft meets Han Solo! And the fact she‘s clearly gay is even better!!

so-soI feel terribly guilty for saying this, as I‘m a huge Murakami fan & have read them all...I was not a fan of this one.
I think I only truly liked “Charlie Parker Play‘s Bossa Nova”.
His short stories are hit or miss for me, but I LOVE his novels.
so-soBeautiful premise, just a bit slow for me. The ending lacked as well, but definitely loved an entire novel w/multiple stories/ perspectives all on trees alone!
pickLoved the lesbian storyline, even if it is between a human and an Automae! Ended rather abruptly, so looking forward to the sequel when it comes out!

I‘ve read thousands of books. Really amazing ones. But I‘m sad that I have yet to find one that when someone asks me that question I can immediately answer.

I‘m at chapter 22 & having a hard time sticking with this one! I‘ve heard so many amazing things about this book, & I‘ve wanted to read it for years, but it‘s pretty slow right now.

pickMurakami writes great short stories, but whenever I read them after one of his novels I feel a bit cheated or shorted after finishing one. I think because right at the point where I start to become invested & interested in a character, the story ends, sometimes abruptly.
pickWow! I didn‘t know what to expect from Murakami‘s newest novel. I wasn‘t really blown away by “Colorless Tsukuru” & I‘ve been more fond of his earlier works. But I absolutely loved Killing Commendatore!!! It reminded me a little of 1Q84, another Murakami favorite of mine, but with more character building that really had me loving the characters, especially Menshiki.
Help! Just finished Murakami‘s “Killing Commendatore” (amazing) & I can‘t decide which of these I should read next!!!
Got to the point in this book where I cannot put it down! So incredibly emotional , raw, touching. The way Yanagihara describes Jude‘s feelings & emotions leaves one to think that some kind of personal experience led to such psychological realism.
First book haul of the New Year! I don‘t have to wonder if any of you get the same giddy, excited feeling when your book haul arrives by mail!

pickProbably one of the best, funniest, & most honest self-help style books I've ever read! It took me longer to finish it because I kept stopping to jot down quotes I liked, & there was a ton!

Any book that starts with the sentence "Well f$@&." earns my attention!! LOL! As a modern Buddhist, I've struggled with finding books & Buddhist authors that speak to me, that are down to earth, & real. This man is that. He is funny, deep, compassionate & intelligent. Each one of his books portrays this. This book isn't just for the heartbroken in love, but in life, career, family, society, etc. Our heart breaks in many different ways & reasons.
If your ever in Los Angeles you must check out The Last Bookstore in downtown L.A.!!
pickAlmost done with this one! I love a book that gets you to love & care about all the characters (regardless of "good" or "evil") & keeps you hanging on everything they do or say. Bardugo has done a great job of this. I think my favorite character so far is Inej! Can't wait to start part 2!

This is my second Kerouac book & I don't know how I feel about it quite yet. I find his writing style sometimes difficult to follow, w/ run on sentences & incoherent babble. I'm taking into account the fact he was piss drunk 1/2 the time, lol! Love to hear people's thoughts/reviews!! Chime in!
