Omg no one told me this would be the saddest love story ever!!!!🥺😢💔 Such a fun, great book though! Made me really feel for Asajj Ventress & see her in a different light.

This novel is based on unproduced episodes of the Clone Wars series. It was pretty good. I don't know anything of Quinlan Vos outside of the current cannon. It fits well with the series, though Asajj's break from the dark side was kinda glossed over. Not the best from Marc Thompson. Anakin and Vos sounded like surfer dudes and Mace was a tad cringe-worthy (he's a white guy trying to sound black...).
I really liked this one, and the bonus short story that came in my addition. It makes me sad that these great characters never came to fruition on Clone Wars. Ventress is such a great and complex character she really needs her own miniseries/movies/show, and Vos and the pirate queen Lassa are fabulous characters I‘d love to read more about too! I‘m looking forward to reading more Christie Golden stories.

How‘d it go #StarWarsBuddyRead? I‘m really liking this one so far, but I‘m not quite finished (although I know the storyline enough to know it doesn‘t end well). These are such great characters, I‘m disappointed this was based on a Clone Wars scripts that never came to fruition, honestly Ventress is such a great and complex character she really needs her own miniseries/movies/show, and she and Vos are electric.
I loved this book. Vos and Ventress were fantastic. Quinlan Vos teams up with Asajj Ventress to kill Count Dooku which goes badly but it's still a great story 🧡

My boyfriend got me this book because I love Star Wars(IV-VI&I-III). I didn't expect a cheesy romance between a Jedi and a used-to-be-Jedi-and-Sith. You can anticipate the romance from the cringy conversation by which Obi-Wan informs Vos of the assignment suggesting him to flirt with Ventress as part of it. Lots of cliches, including going to a ball wearing fancy clothes. Second half is better, I even shed a tear, but let's face it, I'm a crybaby
I haven‘t explored many “Star Wars” novels beyond Timothy Zahn‘s contributions (so many tended to disappoint me), but I couldn‘t resist trying DARK DISCIPLE. I met the author, by pure chance, at a writers retreat called The Porches back in 2016, and she was a lovely person. She does a great job with Asajj Ventress, revealing her ultimate fate in the waning days of the Clone Wars. #StarWars
Getting into a bad habit of returning books to the library without taking a photo! This one was great. I motored through the first half, then got really stressed and took a break for like a week, and then finished it in a sitting. I love the clone wars and enjoyed reading a Star Wars book set during that era. Asajj is a feisty character and I will admit to being a bit 😍 over Voss. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💫
1. 📚 Dark Disciple by Christie Golden; View from the cheap seats by Neil Gaiman; Dare to lead by Brene Brown.
2. 🎬 Captain Marvel!
3. ☕️ Tea, always tea
Star Wars books have gotten so much better since Disney threw out the EU. This audiobook was well produced, and the story was engaging. I ❤️ Asajj Ventress.
hi so i'm still not over this
This book was great. It follows Asajj Ventress after the events of the Sixth Season of The Clone Wars. It shows both sides of the force being used and how even those who only use the light side can make mistakes that can lead to disastrous events. Plus the sass in this book lol. Overall a great read.

This may as well say “I forgave you. For killing Han Solo. And you will forgive me too, one day, Ben Solo. That‘s what you do for.... for the one you love.”
😭😭😭😭
I honestly wasn‘t expecting to love this book as much as I did. I had heard mixed reviews but I fell in love the second I began and it broke me in the end. Honestly this is probably my second favorite SW book after Lost Stars and I h i g h l y recommend
This is a book that exists to close out the story arc of a character from the show. Its good but not great. Its got a tear jerker ending and if you liked Ventress then you'll like this. If you didn't see the show, however, then you'll need wookipedia open for all the references.
So, about a week ago I decided to read all the novels in the Star Wars Universe canon - because, you know, why not.
Turns out my library doesn't have QUITE all of them, but enough that I'm going to give it a go.
Dark Disciple is set during the Clone Wars era, when Anakin was still a Jedi. Quick read with a great female protagonist. Fun!
A dark, emotional redemption story that was a more enjoyable read than I was expecting. Definitely rushed, which felt like a long Clone Wars episode in that way. You could probably read this without having watched the whole Clone Wars TV show but it brings greater meaning and understanding to the characters and events. A good read for fans. I recommend a #borrow on this one. #scifi #starwars
Adding this one to my Star Wars favorites!! Clone Wars era, featuring Quinlan Vos ❤ and Asajj Ventress, who form an unusual partnership to assassinate Count Dooku... and all sorts of conflict and awful Jedi Council decision-making ensues. This one tugged at my heart-strings, so that automatically gives it major points.
Shoutout to @collegecatlady for the early Christmas present #starwars
Hubby finally finished Dark Disciple as well. We both loved it! Even he had to cry a little at that ending! This is fantastic even for the casual SW fan, it's based on unaired episodes of Clone Wars but much darker. It also has Minerva's Paw of Approval. ;D
While I thoroughly enjoyed this read, I'm upset we couldn't see this story play out in the context of the Clone Wars television show, as it was originally intended.
I have a burning need to talk about this book, which I finished last night and which made me think a lot of thoughts about Star Wars books in general. But mostly I AM MAD ABOUT THIS BOOK but I LOVE Asajj Ventress. #conflictedfeels
