This is probably meant to be a YA, but excellent reading for us adults. The characters leap to life right off the pages and all I wanted to do was curl up with this book. Tessa Johnson loses her ability to write and has to really meet herself and learn to love herself to find it again. @FeatherV thank you for the recommendation.

FeatherV It is definitely YA but such a fun read! 2y

In the book “ Happily Ever Afters “ an allusion used in the book was “ I CAN FIX YOUR WAND HARRY!! “ We can see that she is referencing the book Harry Potter

Have you ever been the ‘weird black girl‘…well I have and still am. A personal love story I truly relate to being like the protagonist and wanting to explore your creativity, your identity, your other half, and ‘your people‘…even if they don‘t look like you.

Liatrek I related and loved this story so much❤️❤️❤️❤️ 2y
Ms_Ashley @Liatrek so did I! I loved just how introspective Tessa was. I would have loved to have a friend like Caroline and a leading man like Sam at that age. How beautiful when people see you 😊 (edited) 2y
SW-T I have this on my TBR! Your review makes me want to pick it up and start it sooner than later. 😊 2y

My last book of may. It was ok. I liked it but, some of the decisions the characters make I didn‘t really agree with. It was also kinda predictable too

What do you mean not in front of Harry ? Sure he was 1 at the time and doesn‘t really remember but Lily jumped in front of him, and when the dementors are around, doesn‘t he hear her screams ?

A quick and wonderful listen, though there are several times I wanted to shake Tessa to get her to straighten up, but teenagers. 🤷🏻‍♀️

The ending wasn‘t exactly what I was expecting, but I didn‘t hate it.

I liked everything around the romance more than the romance. The romance was fine, but it was the charming, if a bit frustrating, narrator‘s coming to terms with her anxiety & working through her relationship to her family that kept me riveted. & there‘s just stellar conversation around disability. In the end, this cute, sweet read does exactly what it set out to do — remind us that “happily ever after” first means being happy with yourself. ★★★★☆

A ya about a girl who writes romance novels, gets thrown into a new school situation and attempts to put romance tropes into her own life.

I loved Happily Ever Afters. The story is cute and talks about important issues. Tessa grew up around very few black people. Tessa is in multiple situations with racial problems. Bryant discusses how Tessa feels and why she handles the situations the way she does.

Thank you Balzer + Bray, Harper Collins and Edelweiss for Happily Ever Afters.

An adorable romcom reminding me a bit of All The Boys I've Loved Before with the focus on family, friends, and of course, boys. I honestly don't read much romance, but from the little I have read, it is a nice and welcome change of pace that the main character is black and that there is also some disabilities representation through the sibling character.
