Help!! Do you have any tips for staying awake while reading?? A girl can only have so much caffeine! 😁

BookishFeminist Listen to music without lyrics :) I like listening to upbeat classical or Celtic music bc it keeps me awake but also gives me peace of mind. Also take frequent breaks so your mind doesn't get overtired 8y
Mielkehm Thank you :) 8y
megt I second listening to music without lyrics. Movie scores seem to work best for me (plus it's hard to feel tired while Star Wars is in my ears!). Purposely sitting in a not too comfortable chair is also helpful for me. 8y

Alright it's kind of a long story, but here's the summary. Last night I got sick and in that process, I smacked the side of my head against the tile bathroom wall. Now it hurts when every I make a face. That's where the book comes in. We're reading it for book club and it's so emotionally touching that I can't help but make faces. Help! 😕🤕

My semester long literary criticism course is based on this book. Not sure how I feel about that... 😬

The_Literary_Jedi Lit Crit was always my favorite course at Uni! 8y
readinginthedark It's probably good that you're working with something familiar. Is that all you're reading, though? Seems strange to base a whole lit crit course on one book. 8y

I was hoping to finish my book before I went back to school, but last night I foolishly concussed myself. The goal of finishing is not looking so good. 🤕🤕🤕

HiddenGemBooks Oh no! At least you're well enough to start reading again. It's the little things 😊👍 8y
BooksTeasAndBookishThings ☹️ hope you are okay and feel back to normal soon! 8y

Hello everyone! This post isn't about a book I'm reading, but a book I'm writing. I'm working on writing my first novel and it's an ambitious project. If you have any advice or encouragement PLEASE send it my way. I need all the help I can get. :) Thank you thank you thank you! 💻📄🖋📝

BooksTeasAndBookishThings If you make a huge change, save the new changes as 'alternate plot' so that if you go back to original (which will probably happen) you won't have to change it all again. No matter what, write to make YOU happy with the story that is in your head, you will NEVER make everyone else happy. So, enjoy yourself, write honestly, and have fun and it will be epic! 😊🎉 8y

A nonfiction book that reads like fiction. Perfect summer read!

MrBook That's a great format for a history book. Have you read Erik Larson? He writes in a similar manner. 8y
Mielkehm No I haven't, but I'll give him a shot! 8y
