Off from work today, decided to do some book therapy, and came home with this #bookhaul 📚. A couple for Christmas gifts, but most to add to my library.

3✨The storyline for me was not enjoyable at the beginning. The crude wording throughout the book is something I would expect from a male author, but the characters did cause me to care about them. I want to continue the series, but maybe not own the rest. The mystery gave a good dose of twists and turns, and there was a lot of laugh out loud moments. #DogsofLitsy “Monica”

I know these books are ridiculous and can be formulaic. However, they can be fun, silly, and a comfort read. Quick audiobook while playing a few rounds of Herbaceous solo. I was hoping for a laugh out loud funny funny book. Unfortunately, I didn‘t find the writing particularly funny. The book was fine. 2.5 ⭐️

Solid 3 stars. I work with trauma victims so I was not pleased with the level of violence and abuse. Major trigger warnings here ⚠️

The main character was unlikable but that makes perfect sense considering it's book 1 in a long series.

I liked the concept of her being a bounty hunter but im not sure it was successfully executed. Some of her dialog was so far fetched from normal everyday conversations.

I'll unlikely I'll pick up book 2.

Restarting Stephanie Plum

I have definitely been seeing Janet Evanovich‘s books in bookstores, etc. for years and always passed despite hearing good things. I finally figured I‘d give the author a try. Anytime I start a new series, I have to start at the very beginning. I like Stephanie Plum well enough. I‘m not hooked on the series just yet, but I am willing to read the next one to see the potential of this author.

Easy read, entertaining. Read the book,and watched the movie right after. As usual, the book was better. I give this 3.5 out of 5 ⭐️

This is between a pick and so-so for me. I had to keep reminding myself that Stephanie was new to bounty hunting because, boy did she do some stupid stuff. I‘ve heard such wonderful things about this series that I will give the second book a go.

1. Her name was Daisy she was a chiweenie mix. I got her as a tiny puppy when I was 3 and had her until she was 20. So I grew up with her and she shaped me into the dog crazy lady I am now 🤣
2. That I can rest today. I spent awhile yesterday cleaning and priming my front door to be painted. I'm still tired and sore LOL

I just organized my bookshelf and added the books I own to my bookshelf on #goodreads

This is a reread for me. I‘ve enjoyed the first 15 books or so of this series and this is not my first reread of the earlier books. The characters are entertaining and memorable, even if the plots are not. I always forget how this one ends and I always forget that this is the one with the creepy, giggling, psychopathic boxer. Ramirez gives me nightmares. Not a huge fan of this narrator. I prefer Lorelei King who does later books.

Another love/hate series. When I first started the series 20 years ago Stephanie Plum was new and exciting but now after 26 books her shtick is old. I still keep reading with hope that the series will end and Stephanie will finally pick between Joe and Ranger.

I missed day 1 so here are two of my #top20series. The Stephanie Plum novels always make me laugh. I know so people say they are redundant at this point but I always look forward to a new one and a new set of laughs. The Mortal Instrument series is a love from high school. I love the magic, romance and overall story line. I‘m in the middle of a reread of this one #20series20days

I‘m actually a little surprised by how much I enjoyed this! I thought it would be corny but it was a fun read. Stephanie got herself into some dumb situations but she prevailed.

My grab bag from half price books came today. 5 books they pick for 15 bucks . I am really happy because I haven‘t read any of these 😊

I really enjoyed this one. It may be in part due to the fact that characters are almost never named Stephanie. It‘s kind of funny seeing my name in something. This one is funny and very enjoyable. I‘ll definitely look for more of the series.

Book 5 of lay-off. Let‘s see how many I can get through.

My grandma lent me this book. I‘m kind of excited to read it because you rarely see the name Stephanie in literature. I like the idea of sharing the name of the main character.

Oh how I love mystery/crime fiction! Everything Evanovich writes is like a tasty dessert after dinner. This first book in the Stephanie Plum series is a great setup. Cannot wait to read the rest.
