Reading this book is feeling like a chore to me and I don't understand why. I'm loving everything about it so it's definitely nothing to do with the book. It's like when you're in a munchie mood but the snacks wrong and you can't figure out what the actual craving is. I've never felt like this with a book. 😔

An influencer goes full Dexter, brutally killing and disposing of sexual predators.

Definitely got Patrick Bateman vibes from Kitty with her inner monologue of fantasies to murder people when talking to them, and also her descriptions of the finer, designer things in her life. A must-read for fans of How to Kill Your Family, My Sister the Serial Killer, and American Psycho.

Kitty is the psychopathic protagonist you'll be rooting for.

Kitty is an Influencer who is part Patrick Bateman (materialist psycho) and part Dexter (vigilante serial killer). It had so much potential but it was just so lazy. The timeline often didn‘t make sense, characters were named dropped as if we knew about them even though they had never been mentioned, plot details contradicted themselves. Rather disappointing but fine for a lazy day beach read.

Wow. This was dark and funny and surprisingly sweet and I really really enjoyed it. There are obvious problems with our MC, including the fact that she‘s pretty hypocritical, but I did enjoy the story. I did not expect the ending!

They sell this as humorous satire, but it doesn‘t read as such. We have a train wreck disaster of a protagonist—broken inside, unhappy, and truly unlikable—and, if you enjoy shitty drama (which, turns out, I do), this is uncomfortable but surprisingly entertaining.

Both sad and funny, though for all the wrong reasons. Supposed to be fun because it‘s edgy, and instead what is funny are the attempts—usually failed—at the edginess themselves…

3.0/5

paper.reveries Darn! Sorry you didn't enjoy this one. I've just started it, curious where it's going. :) 12mo

Rather a compelling read in a gruesome sort of way. Think Sweeney Todd and Dexter blended together! Quite the combination but it was a little too much for me. I understand where Kitty is coming from but I did find it very macabre. However, it is written with a sense of humour with great one liners. I‘m just a little worried about Kitty‘s boyfriend - hope he behaves otherwise he might find himself reincarnated as a sausage roll! 3⭐️

I received this to review a couple of months ago and have only just got round to reading it. I‘m not sure what my darling husband is going to make of it when he spots me reading it! 😆. Be afraid, very afraid…

TBH I think I would have DNF'd it if I wasn't listening to the audiobook while doing a big load of housework. It felt more inconvenient to switch books than to just finish this one once I had started.

Was it funny at times? Yes. But was it also disturbing and weirdly normalising of violent and murderous behaviour based on personal assumptions about someone's character? Also yes.

This falls between a pick & so-so for me. It's supposed to be "wickedly funny" but didn't tickle my funny bone. Kitty was likeable & I was anxious for her to continue to "get away with it" but it was pretty far fetched which kept taking me out of the story. The murder of the wrong person was hard to swallow so I'm glad it messed her up so badly. The reveal of the stalker took me completely by surprise & I liked the way Kitty dealt with them.

Loved it! So so much fun! Perfect to sort of empty your mind and not feel terrible when you‘re in pain. I think I‘m going to watch promising young woman next.

Deliciously wicked, that was what this story was. Take the title literally. Kitty Collins is a solid main character in her own right (although there were times I questioned her choices).

There are some themes here, however, that I strongly recommend looking up trigger warnings for.

If there's such a thing as a cozy thriller, this could be it. Thanks for the e-arc, Netgalley and HQ!

This was a very entertaining read with Kitty narrating & casting a very droll eye over the men in her life. Charlie, Kitty's love interest, seems to be a genuinely good guy but some of the others - oh dear. If you also have a dark sense of humour you'll probably enjoy this too. The first half of the book is quite funny in tone considering the subject matter, but things take a grimmer turn in the second half. (Continued in comments)

TheAromaofBooks Woohoo!!! 2y
OutsmartYourShelf There are some contrivances such as Kitty being rich & her family owning a meat-processing plant which comes in handy for disposing of dead bodies (Let's just say I'm glad I'm vegetarian!) There's very strong language, some of the killing scenes are very graphic, & there are some graphic sex scenes too. The book also deals with miscarriage, sexual assault, & infidelity, & a couple of quick memories about the family business & animal death. 2y
OutsmartYourShelf It's not for everyone but I loved it. 4.5 🌟

My thanks to NetGalley & publishers, HQ, for the opportunity to read an ARC. #NetGalley

Kitty Collins has a big secret she is trying to rid the city of predatorial men who prey on her friends or other women
Her first kill was a pure accident when she is followed home and attacked and a quick shove ends in an injury causing death but from then on in Kitty sees how easy it is to rid the world of a sadistic, criminal element.
But Kitty still is also dealing with a psychotic stalker who claims to know all her deepest and darkest secrets.
