Boyfriend out of the house. Coffee. Book. I‘m all set. 🤩
I haven‘t updated in awhile and have read some great books over the holidays. Babyteeth, Circe, Where the Crawdads Sing, Verity, Woman in the Window, etc. But I‘m really excited to read the Witcher series and I‘ve heard positive reviews about the show. I started out with Witcher 1 (Blood of Elves) and I‘m going backwards to Witcher .5 (The Last Wish). I haven‘t started the show yet. Maybe after I finish this book. 😊
I finished this book earlier this month to get into the Halloween spirit and I feel like I picked a good one. I‘ve seen The Haunting when it came out and have been wanting to read it ever since. The Haunting was pretty dead on to the book and it took another turn about halfway through but I can understand why. The book ending probably wouldn‘t translate well to film but I thought it was a great finish to the book. In true Shirley Jackson fashion.
I loved this book. I think the issue that it addresses is so important. I went into it without knowing a single thing about it. I just heard that it was amazing and I immediately found the audiobook from my local library. I couldn‘t stop listening to it and of course it made me tear up at the end.
I thought this book was amazing. It kept me guessing until the end. One of my favorite books I‘ve read this year.
Going to start this today. I read the first couple of pages and it has already made me giggle.
I loved the whole Crazy Rich Asians series and this book was a great ending to the story. ❤️
I share my birthday with the amazing Tom Hanks so I‘m going to start this today. Happy Birthday to us!
I‘ve been wanting to read this for a long time and never got around to it. Finally decided to do it when I saw the HBO trailer for the show. Can‘t wait to see it and I really enjoyed this read.
I just finished this audiobook earlier today. I thought it was great. I read some other reviews on Goodreads that said the twists were obvious but I didn‘t feel that way. It kept me engrossed and I genuinely enjoyed it.
I‘m not a book snob so if the book is close enough to the movie, I‘ll suggest you just watch the movie. However, I loved this book and I think just being able to hear Deus Bronquia‘s thoughts is worth it. I only wish they had more of it rather than just a few chapters. Loved the book. Loved the movie.
I am at the annual Tucson Festival of Books at the University of Arizona and I met author Lisa Genova and Lorna Luft (Judy Garland‘s daughter). I listened to their presentations and got both my books signed. 🤩
So I drive a lot for my job and I rely heavily on audiobooks from my local library. This one, however, is killing me. No disrespect to audiobook readers but this one is a little slow. Maybe the narrator is trying to add to the intensity. The book itself is interesting. I have not seen the movie and when I first saw the trailers, I thought it sounded silly but the book has changed my views so far.
I‘ve been a bit of a slump since I finished my last book. I find that I really need to be excited about a book to get through it or I will move on to another. While I‘m awaiting for the library to ship my book from another city, I‘m going to have to hype myself up to read this next one. I‘m determined!
I really liked this one. If it wasn‘t for the show I would be mad that George R. R. Martin hasn‘t written any new ones recently.
Lol. At times, these books were a b word to read. They‘re SO LONG and I neglected so many other books to finish them. But it was worth it!
