I loved it! A slow start gives way to an epic, emotional story that is all I‘ve come to expect from a Sanderson book.

A story that mixes both sci fi and fantasy with fantastic results! I really enjoyed both the fascinating world and the characters. Add a touch of magic, romance and technology amongst teen angst and the journey to finding yourself in adulthood and not only is it a great story, but one that means something too!

Picked up for a good Halloween read and wasn‘t disappointed. It isn't crazy scary and is more of a Gothic romance, but that is a genre I very much enjoy and Darkling hit all the marks on being both creepy and yet somehow emotional. It really is at its heart a story about grief, with the fantastical elements bringing to the forefront themes about loss, love and death. I highly recommend it!

The Shadowmarch books are a wonderful foray into a fantasy world of gods and goddesses, little people, magic, war and adventure. Not exactly sure what it was that I read, but I liked it a lot. I know that sounds weird, but it‘s true! The key word here is Wonderland...be prepared for the absurd and strange, but also for a fascinating journey down the rabbit hole. Highly recommended if you looking for something unique!

I really loved this series! There are some who complained about its over used tropes, but I guess it really didn‘t bother me that much. I love any stories that are about the love of books and I really enjoyed the romance and characters. It‘s not revolutionary in any way, but it did make me think about censorship, made me laugh and my heart beat for the characters, so I consider that a win!

Really liked the location, the time travel adventure and the characters. Read this while on vacation and traveling myself which perhaps made it even more poignant. This made me get back into reading YA again...avoiding so many of the tropes I now loathe.

Jackaby was a fun summer read full of great characters, mystery and magic!

I've heard the first book is the weakest of the series...if that's the case, then I am really looking forward to the coming books! Gardens of the Moon was epic and intricate and imbued with the overt fantastic elements that I love and miss in some other epic fantasy series. The world, the magic and the intrigue had me flipping pages, staying up late and thinking about it in the hours in between, which is a sure sign of a good book.

SO MUCH FUN!!! A mix up that reminded me of the Thursday Next series, Doctor Who and The Librarians TV show, but with its own unique awesomeness. A crazy world of alternate realities, a mysterious library, the Fae, dragons, werewolves and magic - which sounds like it could be a mess, but it's anything but that. A fast passed mystery adventure that had me flipping pages as fast as I could. Great, light fun and highly recommended!

A love of books indeed!

Oft times a second book in a trilogy can be weaker than it's predecessor, but that is not the case with The Crown of Embers. If anything I think it is even better than the first and propels the story in directions I didn't see coming. More adventure, more romance and more love for a truly lovely main character.

Absolutely fantastic! Loved, loved, loved this series and the concluding book was a perfect end to it all. All hail Elisa...probably one of the most relatable and inspiring characters I have read in SO long. This book warmed my heart in so many ways, from the romance to the adventure to the characters, it had it all in great form. Highly recommended!

Such a lovely, inspiring and enjoyable book! Loved the main character, her journey, the magic and romance. Lots of emotion from funny moments to ones that broke my heart. Would highly recommend it!

Night time reading 💜

One of my favourite reads this year! Made me think of Howl's Moving Castle...a mix of adventure, magic and a dash of romance!

I didn't expect to like this as much as I did. A beautiful fairytale about belonging, love and heartache.

One of the most bizarre and yet delightful collection of stories I've ever read. Not for the faint of heart, but worth it if you choose to read them.

I feel you'll either love or hate this book. I personally loved it, but I love both fantasy and nineteenth century romances like Jane Eyre and Pride and Prejudice and this is a mix of those two things. It is long and there isn't much action, but Susanna Clarke's writing is beautiful and witty and kept me engaged throughout. Getting to the end is really worth it, as it comes to a satisfying, even if unexpected, end.

My all-time favourite books. Reading them is like coming home and I re-read them often.

Sometimes when you've fallen in love with a book and characters so much, that despite your excitement to continue the story, you are also really worried about the follow up book. Will it be as good? No fear of that from Brandon Sanderson! This second instalment in his Knights Radiant series is just as good as the first and I loved every minute of it.

I don't read much epic fantasy anymore, just finding I'm growing out of it, but Brandon Sanderson's The Way of Kings blew me away and I LOVED it! The characters, the world, the emotion. I laughed, cried and cared and those are three things that make me give books the highest ratings. One of the best epic fantasies I've read in a long time.
