Love the heart of this book and the characters who struggle to find their places in the tumultuous world of a 21st century high school over-run with entitled bullies. This gives you a whole other perspective on girls with weight issues and the boys who love them!

If you like artsy-intense psychological thrillers then you will enjoy this one. Not the most difficult who-dun-nit but very interesting and leaves you wondering if they truly caught the right person, even after you finish the book. It will also have you questioning what kind of messed up life this author had in order to write this. The imagery will stay with you for a long while.

Heart wrenching for those who know Hartlzer's story because it echoes so many of those who were brought up in an oppressed home full of religious rules and cult-like doctrine. A well-written memoir with a heart-felt voice. Perfect for YA and adults.

Very tripy.. The reader is submerged in to the psychedelic, pot-smoking, cultish decade of the Manson Family with a fictional account of what it must've been like to be sucked into a group of misfits. The sophisticated voice of the narrator allows the reader to experience the push and pull of degenerate behavior without regret.

A point of view smorgasbord! Ross impressively leads the reader to feel empathy for the villain. A page-turner that leaves you wanting more! The kind of novel that never lets you forget it's story or characters long after you turn the last page.

The opening scene so extremely riveting. You will not be able to put it down. Slaughter's crime scene descriptions are eerily perfect and have the reader on the edge of the seat throughout the entire novel. Perfect for a summer read!

A strange mix between Stephen King's Children of the Corn and The Wizard of Oz. It's a magical horror story that pulls you into a world that makes no logical sense but you can't just walk away from the scarecrow. You must have on open mind to get through this one!

Lovely, little, psychological thriller in the same vain as Girl on a Train. Totally shocking plot twist that makes the reader think, could someone really do that? A detective series where the detectives are not the main characters but intricately involved enough to make it worth following along.

Just got my copy of The Crown by Kiera Cass! Laying down two other books to hopefully finish this one this week!

Extremely disappointing, the writing was less than enticing with schizophrenic sentences and perhaps characters. Hard to follow the intermingled story lines of past and present. Could be considered a travel journal with a short story mixed in.

This author speaks to the audience with her realistic characters and storylines. This novel explores the damage done by keeping secrets and grudges. Also, takes a real look at anxiety and its triggers and treatments. Love the plot and the twist that you don't see coming at all.

The characters are so believable and the storyline is one that is often too real to even stomach. Shocking twist to the who-done-it leaves the reader wanting to know more of why and how? Very informative on social issues that plague today's teenage culture.

The Lake house takes a bit of effort to read as the hook is not as enticing as some of Morton's previous novels. However the intricacies of the plot and movement of the story line keep the reader going back for more. The who-done-it is not at all what I expected. Excellent mystery!
