I am only able to listen to history audiobooks while at work.… but the books I choose are about the powerful and scary women in history. I‘d consider that a win.

Did I just read 13 books in 7 days just to finish this book in like 2.5 hours? Yes I did. Do I have any regrets? No this book was excellent. I only wish there was another book waiting… I need mooooore!

And I say 7 days but I didn‘t read over the weekend or on Tuesday or Wednesday so… 3 days? Ish?

That moment when your hold for this book comes in at the library, and for the life of you, you cannot remember what happened in the last six books… or in the first four... But don‘t worry, I remember vividly books six and seven… but nothing else. Well , guess who‘s rereading 12 out of 14 books in a series, just so I can read this new one! 🙄🙄🙄

I am equal parts offended and extremely impressed by this book. Offended because the next book isn‘t out. And impressed because this whole book kept me thoroughly on my toes and out of my mind. I sided with and alternatively distrusted everyone and everything at all times. My brain hurts so good. 😊

Of all the presents I received from my dad on Christmas, this was the one I was most excited about. It is a children‘s book that tells the life story of Sitting Bull. My dad was so upset that he accidentally bought me a children‘s book, but this was the perfect way to peak my interest into a new reading subject. The book is stunning, with photographs and drawings covering each page. And it was written in a wonderfully beautiful and engaging way.

Okay first things first… epic cover. Dos, I was just about to start reading when I remembered it was Viking related and wondered if there was a glossary somewhere. And would you believe that I turned the page and found not only the glossary… but a whole ass pronunciation guide! And they look extensive!!! I don‘t even care if this book is bad (I haven‘t read it yet,) it gets minimum 3 stars just for that! 😍😍🥰🥰😘😘

I am in the introduction. Not even in the actual book yet, just the introduction! And I have already learned so much! For some reason the killing spree of Jack the Ripper and the Golden Jubilee of Queen Victoria being in the same time period just never clicked. Then there‘s the monetary system. I had some googling to do on that. Again I haven‘t even touched the main book yet! 😳😳😳

Sometimes you‘re just in the mood for Arthurian stuff. And I would like to lodge a formal complaint against the word TRAVAIL. It makes my hands itch. My brain dislikes the way it looks and sounds.

Rereading this delightful book and stumbled upon the villain being unnecessarily attractive and relatable. He‘s so hot… 🥵

That moment when a book is so chonky that you have to split it into manageable 100 page chonks to make reading it feel possible. Hopefully I‘ll get so deep that the chonkiness will become irrelevant, but until then… 100 pages a day

Ohh. This was just beautiful. I listened to this on audio book and this was truly beautiful

Don‘t mind me, just reading some sweet little stories to get out of my 2023 slump. This was nice and soft and squishy, like a good moss. If I weren‘t currently in a winter hellscape I‘d go outside and take in the trees. But alas, winter has finally reared is frigid head.

I am betrayed. Who said it was okay to make me acknowledge my emotions. How dare. This short story was wonderful.

So cute and satisfying. 10/10.

Honestly, I watched a review of this, then read the synopsis. I am 1 chapter into this book. Why does my chest hurt like I‘ve been punched by the Hulk? Hoo boy was that a chapter.

He is just so relatable and so adorable, I can‘t even. I am in love with him.

Sigh, a terrible story, a wonderful love. Full of hope and it made me cry. To be fair I was already crying from the previous book so it wasn‘t hard….

The sheer amount of PINING in these books is unmatched. I powered through volumes 1 and 2 and ended up staying up until well past 6 am… and I got up to work at 830. Save me.

We have arrived at the fall of Timbuktu and I am utterly devastated by the loss. I wish I would have learned bout this years ago. I feel like I may go down a rabbit hole…. 😭😭😭😭

I am greatly enjoying this. The woman narrating this book has a deeply relaxing voice… ahhhhhh

So far this is fascinating, a little disturbing and showcasing a fair bit of political naivety, though as I am listening to this from the future, I may have hindsight‘s glasses on.

This is a solid 3.5 read. Quick to finish. Though I do feel like the baby was dropped a little bit too quickly as a plot point…

This book was utterly fascinating, completely heartbreaking and horrifying. The ribbons tying the past and present were drawn into the light and into understanding. I am descending into a changed worldview. I would very much like to learn more.

You know, this was a solid story. Had a solid level of tomfoolery and fae mischief. Well done.

As a last ditch effort to drag myself out of my reading slump, I am trying to audiobook for the first time. And I have to say this book is fascinating!

To be clear, I can guarantee that I would accidentally and unknowingly break every single one of these rules…. Except the book club thing… I don‘t book club. And maybe rule ten… but that‘s only because I don‘t agree with guns. I‘m more likely to wack someone with a book.

This was gods damned beautiful. 10/5 stars. But why must I torture myself by reading books that have unreleased sequels?! In this instance I blame Booktok peer pressure.
