The author attempted a whodunnit with this crime novel. Old friends gathered to celebrate New Year's at a remote cabin. One of them is killed and we rotate through narrators to find out the killer and their motive. Sounds like a real nail-biter right? Wrong. This was so slow I nearly bailed on it. The last 30 or so pages was interesting but overall it was a snoozefest😴

This book rotates narration between a mother and her psychopathic young daughter. I couldn't put this one down! The ending was predictable but the rest of the book was a well written thrill ride!

An ancient monster helps a boy navigate some tough real life situations. This is the first book that ever made me have a complete meltdown. Not your typical watery eyes...nope, ugly crying... completely lost it! Great message but what a tear-jerker 😭

This novel rotates between the narration of a psychiatrist and her subject during an experiment that goes astray. I wanted to enjoy this book so much. Unfortunately, I was very bored no matter how much coffee I drank. I was tempted to bail at least 3 times. In general, book was uneventful and bland.

Unfortunately I didn't take anything away from this book. She briefly discussed depression but barely went into details. If mental illness was a problem for her and she overcame it to be a "bawse", she could've helped so many people. However, the opportunity was lost and filled in with her version of comedic narration.

This book had the potential to be a "perfect" mystery/thriller. However, the authors plot twists near the end of the book were unrealistic and a little confusing ?

Revealing glimpse into life under Warren Jeffs told from his daughter's perspective. There are plenty of other polygamy biographies which have more depth. This was insightful but just an ok read.

I was captivated with Joe's sociopathic narrative in this novel. I watched the TV show first yet I still throughly enjoyed the plot. Can't wait to finish the sequel, Hidden Bodies! Overall score 4.5/5👍🏽

This was the book version of the movie "Scream". A slasher book about high school students terrorized by a killer. My only gripe is the author didn't have character development of most victims. However, for an author that is known for romance this is not a bad horror read.

This book managed to keep my ADHD mind captivated! I know it has mixed reviews but Stephen King likes it so I don't mind being in the minority 🤷🏽‍♀️

I initially thought this would be a page turning thriller with such a title and synopsis. However, it actually was more of a contemporary fiction. It wasn't one of my favorite reads but I could appreciate the concept of friendship and loyalty.

Although this was a very quick read it was stuffed full of fluff, very boring at times. I feel bad that I don't get the hype. No plot twists whatsoever...I just don't get it and I'm so sad😔

I guess I'm in the minority on this one. If you're looking for a real page turner this is NOT it. Although some parts piqued my interest, for the most part it was boring dialogue. Recommended only for patient readers!

I was initially skeptical about this one. Historical fiction is not my favorite genre. However, this was a pleasant surprise! Perfect blend of life, love, and drama in a historical setting...such an underrated book!

A breath of fresh air after a reading slump. I had almost sworn off all books with "wife" "girl" or "woman" in the title due to similar plots. This book was a rollercoaster and I enjoyed the ride! #PageTurner
