TrishTheBibliophile @pagesandbeyond Ha! I totally understand. I've floated in and out of it, reading them between others as I also have them all on my shelf. The series is very character focused so doesn't have the same urgency as other series. I will say that this book is my favorite of the series so far! I'm about 75 pages from the end! 7y

pagesandbeyond Tbh, I was not really into the first book (for some reason). A lot of people liked the book😓 Maybe that's why it was so hard for me to pick the next books but since the story seems to pick up, I'd give it a try again @TrishTheBibliophile ☺️ 7y

TrishTheBibliophile @pagesandbeyond I totally understand! It's a lot slower than other series I am used to because its so character driven and not necessarily plot driven. It's not my favorite series and it was SO hard for me to finish the second book, which is why I held off on the third. But IMO this one has been better. 7y

I'm pretty sure I rated this with 4/5 ⭐️'s on Goodreads. I do love a good YA/Contemporary once in awhile. Quite far from my usual YA fantasy pick. As cliche as the story may be, I definitely enjoyed this one. Who wouldn't enjoy a story of a girl volunteering in New Orleans, escaping her youth group, getting lost in the heart of Mardi Gras and meeting the man of her dreams? Oh,I almost forgot, a hurricane is also heading their way😂

5 FREAKIN' ⭐️'s for this trilogy! The story (and obviously the cover) is everything😍

Trizia and I first encountered Claudia Gray from her book Evernight (which really wasn't our cup of tea back then). This one though went beyond expectations. Everything, from the characters, the setting/s, got us so hooked and made us fall in love with each page. Oh, and yea, Lt. Paul Markov is a character that is definitely close to our ❤️'s
