Non-linear narrative. Hard to get used to, but worth it.

This book is both heartbreaking and radicalizing in the best ways. Beautifully written and historically based. Extremely relevant.

It‘s the end of the semester which means it‘s final paper time. I‘m SO excited that I get to write about two books that I love so much for my African Literature course. If you haven‘t read Barbara Kingsolver‘s The Poisonwood Bible or Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie‘s Purple Hibiscus, you‘re missing out.

I decided that my first Litsy post should be my favorite book, so here goes. William Gay‘s “The Paperhanger” is the reason I decided to pursue literature wholeheartedly. This short story collection is Southern gothic/grit lit at it‘s best. I will be evangelizing William Gay‘s fiction until I die.
