The rich fantasy world is filled intrigue, magic, mystery, myth, legend, good and evil. I enjoyed the characters growth of Eon(a) over the two books. She is a amazing female character who shows both her strengths and flaws, as she faces challenges with magic, power and moral choices. I felt truly immersed in this world.

I was drawn to the cover of Eon by Alison Goodman and after reading the synopsis, I was intrigued. I mean swords, dragons, magic, dangerous secrets and heroes!
I wasn't disappointed in reading the book either. I love the amazing world building this author creates. I have no trouble envisioning the dragons, picturing the characters and feeling the action.

I finally finished book one Falling Kingdoms. For me the book was okay. It was a quick read and has an interesting story. There were a lot of things in the story which felt rushed and so far I'm not feeling a lot of connection to any of the characters (yet). I feel some of the characters have potential and maybe the multiple POV's in this story took away from some of that development. I am still going to continue with the story!

Morning Star is the final book in the Red Rising series. This amazing sci-fi series is full of adventure, battles, treachery, and friendship. As I mentioned with this series, it can be busy with lots of characters and battles, but overall I really enjoyed the series. I loved the development of so many of the characters. The relationships and dynamic was always changing and the ongoing banter within the Howlers brought a nice humour to the book.

Six of Crows | Leigh Bardugo

I loved Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo! The book started a little slow, but built to an amazing and intriguing story. The Crows are an eclectic mix of characters who each had something to make me totally love them.
🖤
I know a few people have asked about reading order; Grisha Trilogy vs SoC. While you can read each series independently of the other, the Grisha Trilogy does give background and history to the Grisha world which could help in SoC!

I finished Golden Son this morning and I enjoyed it a lot. Yes it was a busy story, with battles and lots of characters to remember. I enjoyed this one better than Red Rising. However I think I picked the right time to read this one. I strongly believe my mood impacts how I feel about a book. I had the focus and time to truly enjoy this book.

Who doesn't love post-apocalyptic adventures mixed with badass angels! It may sound a little strange, but Susan Ee totally makes it work in Angelfall.
The Penryn & the End of Days series is a trilogy about a fearless young girl, who team's up with a warrior angel to find her sister!
This series is fast paced, quick read with a interesting cast of characters!

The Thousandth Floor | Katharine McGee

Mehso-so

The Thousandth Floor by Katherine McGee, I feel was just okay. It set in future New York where the story revolves around mostly wealthy teens living in a mammoth high rise which has all the amenities of most cities right in the building.
The story is told from 5 POVs which creates a lot of the drag of the storyline. The book didn't grip me and I didn't care all that much most of the characters.
Not sure that I will continue with this series.

"Be glad of your human heart, Feyre. Pity those who don't feel anything at all." Sarah J. Maas, A Court of Thorns and Roses

I really enjoyed ACOTAR a lot. I went into the book knowing very little about the series. I managed too keep it that way through all three books. I think Lucien was one of my favourite characters in this book.

I took one of the rest to determine my Court before reading the book. I am happy to be in the Day Court!

Happy 20th Anniversary Harry Potter!
🎂
Despite being in university when the Philosopher's Stone came out, I quickly became a fan. I am excited to continue to share my obsession......I mean love of this truly magical series with both of my daughter's.
🎂
My oldest daughter read the entire series in a week or so a few years ago and my youngest just finished the series after reading it on an off for a couple of years. We are all crazy about HP!

While the first book in the Loom Saga didn't fully captivate me, as Kova's Air Awakens series, there were elements of the book I liked. I love high fantasy and this world is so intricate (Guilds, technologies and dragons). I struggled at the start connecting to the main character (Ari) and her distain for the dragons. I wanted more of her history at the beginning. Ari was fierce and loyal and became more intriguing as the story progressed. (4 ⭐️)

"Children are made readers on the laps of their parents." - Emilie Buchwald

One activity equally shared by everyone in my family is reading. My daughter's and I often enjoy a cup of something and a good book.

In this picture I was enjoying Truthwitch by Susan Dennard and my daughter was enjoying Land of Stories (book 5) An Authors Odyssey by Chris Colfer.

QOTD: what are you currently reading?

Red Rising | Pierce Brown

Pickpick

Red Rising by Pierce Brown started off slow for me, by the end I did enjoy it. I found the development of the Mars social structure confusing at the beginning. At the start there was a lot of info as the main character Darrow discovers some life changing details about life as a Red!
The books had a dystopian feel. Darrow fights (for his life), as he works to place himself amongst his enemies, aiming to elevate himself in this brutal ruling class!

Perhaps I'm a Windwalker!

Air Awakens by Elise Kova is book 1 in a 5 book series.
This high fantasy world is filled with elemental magic and a diverse array of amazing characters. In the first book we are introduced to Vhalla as she becomes immersed in a dangerous world of magic and power. Through finding her own power, she also discovers friendship and love!
Air Awakens is a book I have recommended over and over to so many people ❤️

I liked this story. It was a interesting look at how the famed Queen of Hearts came to be. I thought the book was sweet, fun, exciting and heartbreaking. It had all the necessary elements from the story we know and love in Alice in Wonderland.
❤️
Marissa Meyer is a wonderful storyteller I do hope she will write more stand alone books like this.

Windwitch | Susan Dennard

Pickpick

The writing in this series is different than many YA fantasy books. It's not a book that info dumps about the world or back story of the characters. You learn things as you need to know them.
Windwitch is multiple POV b/w 5 characters. Most of the book those characters were apart, so the story was slow at time. I really love the characters and their development. I also enjoy the magic system.
My favourite characters are Iseult and Aeduan. ❤️

New World Rising and New World Ashes by Jennifer Wilson is a great series. The dystopian world she creates in these books is amazing and truly fascinating.
This series is action packed, and thrilling. I am loving Phoenix more and more with each turn of the page. Triven and Mouse have captured my heart and Ryker I am completely intrigued.
Now I will sit and pine for New World Inferno!!!!!

Ruin and Rising | Leigh Bardugo

The Grisha Trilogy was one of my favourite book series read last year. This year Leigh Bardugo's Six of Crows duology will definitely be on my 2017 favourite books.
I am pretty sure Leigh Bardugo is now one of my auto-buy authors. I feel her writing seems to get better with each series.
