The ox feels the yoke, but does the bird feel the weight of its wings?
This was a fucking “pardon my French if you‘re a religious man” masterpiece! The story was so much more than just some creepy clown or IT. I was quickly swept off my feet by Ben, Richie, Eddie, Bill, Mike, Beverly, and Stan. The Losers‘ Club is definite friendship goals! The love these kids had for each other had me shedding tears at moments that were quite unexpected. The ending, it killed me! A week later and I still haven‘t recovered.
Leigh Bardugo has created such an amazing world, I found myself engrossed with every detail of it. I loved Alina‘s character growth. And then there‘s the matter of The Darkling! This guy just made me change my view on villains. I mean, I knew you couldn‘t have a story without a good villain, but this guy just makes everything so much more interesting. I can‘t wait to see how the rest of the story unfolds!
The writing was beautiful (as Maggie's writing always is) and the story was wonderfully magical. I love the whole feel of Thisby, the love Puck had for the island and everything in it - the comparison to the love Sean had for the water horses, especially Corr. 🐎
Maggie writes these wonderful characters and makes it so easy to feel what they are feeling. As always, I sobbed at the end, because I'm a softy and everything was just so beautiful! 😭
This has to be my favorite book of the series so far, the character development in this book was seriously amazing, it's definitely what Sarah J. Maas does best.
It's so GORGEOUS! 😍
Super cute and fun quick read. :) Bianca resonated with me so much. I love how this book mentions so many things that most of us go through in high school, but never really think about or analyze for that matter. I could definitely identify with Bianca in so many ways... At the end of the day, we have all been the DUFF at some point in our lives. ;)
Happy release day to this beauty! Thanks to @Bloomsbury_Publishing for providing me with a copy, I can't wait to dive in!
A Million Junes is a wonderful story of love, family, pain, loss, regret, letting go, inheritance... It reminds us of how we carry our families burdens, how they are passed on from generation to generation and how the past will always be a part of us - our history. Only we can decide if we want to let our history and inheritance define us in a negative or a positive way. This is one of the most beautiful books I've ever read!
I loved the YouTube series The Lizzie Bennet Diaries.
Giveaway for a copy of this book over on my Instagram! Handle is the same as here. 💖😉 #betruetome #adelegriffin
"You're not a book person, and now you're not an Internet person? What does that leave you?" Levi laughed. "Life. Work. Class. Other people."
"Other people", Cath repeated, shaking her head and taking a sip. "There are other people on internet. It's awesome. You get all the benefits of 'other people' without the body odor and the eye contact."
I seriously have no words to describe how amazing this book is! I didn't think I would become so attached to these characters, but by the end of the book I was so heartbroken! All I wanted to do was hug everyone, especially Melanie.
The writing is brilliant, the characters are so complex, the relationships are perfection, the interactions are filled with so much emotion, it's so much more than a thrilling zombie-apocalypse story. ✨
I haven't been able to properly review or rate this book yet. My thoughts aren't clear. For now I will say that it wasn't all that I expected, maybe I just went in with super high hopes since I loved A Court of Mist and Fury so much. What it did do was leave me in love with Azriel. 😍
"Richard Gansey III had forgotten how many times he had been told he was destined for greatness."
- Maggie Stiefvater (The Raven King)
Just some Lord of the Rings appreciation! I'm still trying to get through these books! I can do it! 😂
"You are mistaken, Mr. Darcy, if you suppose that the mode of your declaration affected me in any other way, than as it spared the concern which I might have felt in refusing you, had you behaved in a more gentlemanlike manner."
- Elizabeth Bennet
Definitely one of my favorite contemporaries. It reminded me of the importance of family and how, even if we drift away, family will always be there - waiting for us to come back.
“Right, stand back, Harry.” He tapped the wall three times with the point of his umbrella. The brick he had touched quivered — it wriggled — in the middle, a small hole appeared — it grew wider and wider — a second later they were facing an archway large enough even for Hagrid, an archway onto a cobbled street that twisted and turned out of sight. “Welcome,” said Hagrid, “to Diagon Alley.” He grinned at Harry‘s amazement.
Happy Father's Day! Who is your favorite book father? I always thought Charlie Swan was pretty cool.
The story behind our most "beloved" Queen Levana. I must admit that I sympathized with her at certain moments, but that only made me like her less. Great quick read and great introduction to Winter. :)
😍 I don't want it to end!
Ummmm... So it started out okay and then I just wanted to bail in the middle. It dragged out so much and I just wanted everything tu hurry up! It was very frustrating and then it picked up near the end. All in all it was ok, I ended up yelling at the book a couple of times. 😂 I've heard the movie is pretty good though... 😉
😍 This was lovely! I absolutely loved how I could relate to Cath on many levels. Who hasn't been a Fangirl at some point in their lives? 😊 This was a great warm and fuzzy read.
Next on the list. 😊
Love, love, LOVE Scarlet and Cinder and Thorne and Wolf and everyone! The sequel definitely did not disappoint! What a wonderful retelling if these fairytales. I'm truly enjoying this series... Now off to the next book. 😊
I like "Captain" Thorne - he reminds me of Flynn Rider from Tangled. ?
These boys! They crack me up! 😂😂😂
I loved it! I love all fairytales! Pretty predictable in the sense that we all know the story of Cinderella but it had a nice twist to it. Yay! Onto the next book in the series. :)
😭😭😭
Using my royal carriage bookmark from this month's @owlcrate to read Cinder. Because, Cinderella! 👸🏼👑✨
Such a great and quick read! I wasn't expecting the twist in the story, which was nice because it turned out not being as predictable as I thought it would be. I LOVE these boys and the strong friendship they hold despite their different personalities. I can't wait to read the rest of the series! 😍
Just brought this home with me from the library. :) Can't wait to start reading.
Barely ten chapters in and I already love these boys. Is that even possible? 🤓
I truly do love the peculiar world that Riggs has created. He's so descriptive and the pictures give your imagination an extra boost. But, for some reason it took me FOREVER to get through this book. It felt slow, even though there was always something going on. I will however, finish the trilogy.
Wow, what a ride! A really good and fun read, even if you're not the gamer type. I was completely immersed in Cline's Oasis - a whole new world, 80's references galore! And I was reminded that great friends are those who stick by you no matter what. Lots of good vibes, I loved these characters. :)
