#AyUpAugust #somethinggood
As a Julie Andrews fan girl, I couldn‘t help but think of the song from The Sound of Music for today!
When I lived in London, Friday nights at 11.30pm (when the pubs shut back then), my favorite cinema would have their Sing-along-The Sound of Music event. There is no better communal movie experience, than a bunch of tipsy Londoners, half of them dressed in habits or curtains, singing and yodeling away! Fond memories!💕

Freespirit Wow sounds wonderful! 5y
Suet624 So fun! 5y
squirrelbrain So we need to know, did you have the full habit or did you just swing a curtain round your shoulders?! 5y

KarenUK @squirrelbrain I admit I never did ‘dress up‘ (far too shy for that!) but with a couple of adult beverages inside me, I sure did sing at the top of my voice! The Lonely Goatherd being my favorite! 😂🐐 5y
Cinfhen Hilarious 😂 thanks for sharing🙌🏻#LiveandLearn 😍 5y
Crazeedi @KarenUK I know every song!!! 5y

With the play 3 weeks away (yikes you guys!!) This nun is spending as much time possible learning her Latin and practicing lines. A snack of fruit is helping me through this practice session. I hope practice isn't cancelled for tomorrow due to the snow!!!

Kshakal I was a nun in sister act this fall and the Latin was the hardest part! 7y

merelybookish @Tanisha_A @Cathythoughts @Kendra.Diane It never disappoints! 💜 7y
merelybookish @GabrielleDubois How fun to see it for the first time! Were you familiar with the music at all? 7y
merelybookish @Hollie My daughter really liked it too! And I wasn't sure since current movies have such a faster pace. 7y
merelybookish @AmyG Me too! It aired every year between Xmas and New Year's which is why I think of it as a Christmas movie. 7y
GabrielleDubois @merelybookish I knew about this play and movie, but I never heard the songs before, which is surprising, because when I was around 20 yo, I tried to watch all the movies I could from the 1940's to the 1960's: I saw Singing in the Rain, West Side Story, ... but never this one. It's so dated, but meanwhile, this simple freshness that we lost, I think, is good for me. But my kind of music, is classical, my prefered composer is Beethoven. 7y
kspenmoll Always see it once a year & soundtrack is on my phone! Glad you & your daughter enjoy watching it together.❤️ 7y
