Two recent reads, very different but loved both. My first book with each author, and I‘m a fan!

Loved this! Ghost story, murder mystery, and the power of friendship. Reminded me of Jennifer McMahon, of whom I am a fan.

The English Wife was a pleasant surprise, a late 1800‘s murder mystery straight out of Clue, with the snark of Downton Abbey.

Vacation reads! Man I love Kristin Hannah.

I enjoyed both of these immensely. This is the 20th in Elizabeth George‘s Lynley series, and I agree with others that it felt like she went back to the original recipe I‘ve enjoyed in the past. This was only my second Kristin Hannah (after The Nightingale of course) and she‘s become a favorite author of mine as well. I‘m looking forward to working my way through her back catalogue.

Fun book nerd night! I got to meet Elizabeth George and have her sign a copy of her latest book, the 20th in her Lynley series. She was warm and funny and smart and most decidedly not British despite my assumption to the contrary.

This was a fun read I would call Game of Thrones Lite. Meant as a compliment! I will definitely be reading the sequel.

This book has sucked me in! I will likely not get much else done today.

2 books I finished over the weekend. Beasts was ok, it just wasn‘t my thing. But I loved Dreamers.

Fantastic graphic novel. Gorgeous watercolors with a story of family and parenting in the setting of the Vietnam War and beyond.

I put off reading this as I‘ve realized I‘m a little tired of Gone Girls right now. I‘m less than 100 pages in and really enjoying this one. I feel that I‘m being taken for a ride, and I‘m excited to see where it goes.

I read these three books during my recent vacation, but definitely saved the best for last. I loved The Fireman. After NOS4A2 my expectations were way more out there than this comparatively down to earth book was. It kept me guessing and engaged and I loved the shout outs to many of my favorite books, including some written by Mr Hill and Uncle Stevie. I won‘t wait this long to read his next book.

I enjoyed the second book by @Pronounced_ing even more than the first. One of the best I‘ve read this year! I can‘t wait to see what is next for her.

I can‘t think of another book that made me snort with laughter and cry all at the same time. I read a lot of good books this year, but this one was my favorite.

This was a wild ride! I agree with those who‘ve said to just go with it. It reminded me of a favorite book from years ago, but I by no means had it all figured out. I‘d love to see a movie adaptation.

I enjoyed this and sped through it even though parts were predictable. I agree it will make a fun film.

Man. This ending jumped the shark for me. WTF. It was just ok prior to that, enough to keep me reading, but yeah. No.

Great read. I saw part of it coming, but enjoyed it all the same and was never sure how it would end. Very satisfying!

I really enjoyed this. I'm a huge fan of Stephen King, and what an interesting concept, especially at this point in American history. For me, it was classic King, with social commentary of our times. Interesting to me as well that two men wrote this particular story.

I'm loving this. It's classic King... or should I say, King Squared.

I finished my audiobook and needed another one right away. I was very excited to find this had been added to my library and was available 😎

I've become a fan of this type of domestic drama. And an even bigger fan of the lovely Australian narrator of Moriarty's audiobooks.

I just finished both of these, and they complimented each other well! Both fairly quick addictive reads with endings I didn't see coming, more so with Winter People, which was also delightfully creepy.

No spoilers, but is anyone else watching the show? I liked the first few episodes, but I feel like it's become boring and I don't like how they've portrayed Holly. There seems like too much unnecessary filler. Just wondered what others thought!

❤️💚💙 I decided to listen to the audiobook after buying her newest novel. I'm sad I waited so long to discover Ms. Ng! But perhaps I was supposed to wait, as I've realized my love of twisty mysteries and YA dystopia has faded and I am now digging familial drama. I loved it. Very excited to read Little Fires Everywhere.

A perfect description of addiction.

I'm enjoying this audiobook, and glad I chose this format. The rambling sentences may annoy me in print, but are fun to listen to.

This just wasn't for me. It felt long and repetitious, and the payoff wasn't worth it for me in the end. I'm glad I had the audiobook, I'm not sure I could have stuck with it otherwise.

This is the second McMahon book I've read, and I'm happy to have discovered her. I enjoyed it quite a bit, although the ending felt a bit rushed to me.

Man. This book is not very good. I'm a fan of this type of YA, and early on accepted that it's written like 80% of them. But as it went on, the dialogue got worse as the plot became predictable and nonsensical. I actually cringed a few times imaging how proud the author must have been as he wrote some of these lines. If you're tempted to read this, may I recommend Rainbow Rowell's Carry On instead? It's fantastic.
