Rose is one of twelve princesses forced to dance through the night in an underground palace. The key to breaking the spell lies in magic knitting needles, an invisibility cloak, and-of course-true love. Inspired by "The Twelve Dancing Princesses,"this novel is as captivating as it is fresh. Enchanted readers are sure to clamor for the new companion, Princess of Glass, also published.

4✨This book has been on my TBR forever! It is a retelling from the twelve dancing princesses. I‘m going to be honest I never heard of that German made fairy tale, but I‘ll be reading it soon. 12 princess sisters in this retelling are cursed to dance every night for the Stone King with his 12 sons. Naturally, their kingdom is under a spell where they can‘t help, and any prince that tries does! I love fairy tale retellings so this was awesome! 😍

Then you‘ll like this retelling of the 12 Dancing Princesses, where they have to dance every night. Can the curse be broken?

Klou Love this choice!!! I hadn't even considered it but what a great choice!! 👍great job! 4y
JazzFeathers Oh, cool! I like retelling. And that cover is gorgeous! 4y
CrowCAH @JazzFeathers from what I remember, it was an entertaining book. I wanted to find out what was going on and how the main character would be able to stop the dancing. 4y

An okay retelling with a hero who knits. Patterns included. Supposed to be YA, but felt more middle grade.

LibrarianRyan I loved this series. It‘s older and I would say it‘s true YA. So much modern YA is for older teens. This fits for younger teens. Not so mature as is expected in most YA now. 5y

6/10 Decent retelling of a classic, bordering on childish at times. Tries a bit too hard to be something it's not

The Twelve Dancing Princesses is one of my favourite fairytales, and even though this book doesn‘t really add much that is new to the fairytale it is a charming and enjoyable retelling all the same. Enjoyed here with a slice of homemade black forest gateau!

Lizpixie Ugh, that cake looks a-MAY-zing!🤤🍰 6y

Twelve sisters are condemned to dance each night for the wicked King. It is a curse that has haunted them since their birth. A little more than #onedance but the old King Under Stone “really liked their style” #heatofjuly

I stopped in a consignment shop today because an item caught my eye in the window when I drove by. Departed with these two princess books in tow. One about a real princess and the other a retelling of the fairy tale of The Twelve Dancing Princesses.

KerriNTurner Another retelling of the Twelve Dancing Princesses fairytale which is wonderful is The Girls at the Kingfisher Club. Set in the 1920's, so very different to this one (which I'm now excited to read one day!). (edited) 6y
DivineDiana @KerriNTurner Thank you! That sounds fantastic! 6y

This was such I quick fun read! It's been awhile since I read a fairytale retelling so it was nice to revisit a favorite genre.
Since I don't work until 11, but then have to work all day plus go in to school for our middle school Back to School Bash, Ruby and I crawled back into bed after dropping Lane off at daycare...

Turns out I'm an idiot... but look what I found on my kindle! I thought these books seemed very familiar. (See my previous post for the source of my confusion...) Can I blame things on pregnancy brain when I don't even look pregnant yet?

I always love me a good book with a great intelligent male protagonist. And this one has princesses and evil spells as well. What's not to love? #fantasy #soldier
