1) Hand-lettered titles and designs made to look 3D/tactile. (Asymmetry or Small Hours are examples of the latter.)
2) How to choose? Nan Goldin is great. Edward Hopper is quietly lovely. Winslow Homer is a master.
3) Giovanni Paolo Panini‘s “view painting” in the Louvre. It‘s a painting of a room full of DOZENS of paintings. Incredible work from the 18th century.
4) The Met is a go-to. It can be so different every time.

Went to a local art studio and gallery today in #themitten and this painting caught my eye—mostly the book in the painting! So pretty! #art #book #painting
I finally bought a library cart (truck) for all my art books...so excited. #riotgrams #shelfie #library #librarycart
Good news: Got a part time job as an educator at the local art museum! Bad news: high school humanities and art history was a long time ago. Time to brush up.
When I told @BookBabe that it was time for our walk, this is where I found her painting ?, on the back porch listening to an audiobook. This is one of her non-bookish pieces. It's called "The Forgotten Firefighter" and it's of, well, a forgotten firefighter in NJ. He perished fighting a blaze with 2 other colleagues, but he has perplexingly not been included in re-tellings and memorials. An old deteriorated photo was found, and she's using that.
It's my last week of work at my current job (I work in a Children's Library). A little girl presented me with this portrait of me today. I think she did a pretty great job. Compare it with an actual photo of me. Which is the real me? Which is the drawing? It's impossible to tell.
We created a new book clutch cover for art lovers! Handbag "The art book" is a perfect accessory for creative women???

Only found two Text Only books on my shelves for today's #Booktober photo ... Guess that's what happens when you often judge books by their covers!
