Love these books. Rick is such a master of getting immediately into the action and keeping you invested. My kids and I have loved this series. Great to read aloud or alone. Happy that my year has included so much Rick Riordan! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Very good ending to another fantastic series by Rick Riordan. This series is almost on the same level as Harry Potter for me.
Aaah! I loved this book and thought it was a great conclusion to this series. I really enjoyed reading all of the different perspectives (now including Reyna and Nico) and overall liked the action scenes and the AMAZING dialogue. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
“You have roughly two minutes of life."
"Oh, but I don't abide by your time frame, giant," Reyna said. "A Roman does not wait for death. She seeks it out, and meets it on her own terms."
“Your voice is your identity. If you don't use it,” he said with a shrug, "you're halfway to Asphodel already."
Reyna scowled. "Is that your idea of a pep talk?"
"Look, it's three to one and your hands are tied."
"You're right," Reyna growled. "Get another six of you in here, and it might be a fair fight."
I am a son of Hades, he thought. I go where I wish. The darkness is my birthright.

In honor of my upcoming Greece trip.
“The coach could do a goat-hoof tap dance around Nico‘s head and the son of Hades wouldn‘t even budge.”
Rick Riordan, The Blood of Olympus (The Heroes of Olympus, #5)
I am so far into percy‘s adventure and so into it.
This book was a great reading experience. It is the last instalment of the hero‘s of Olympus series and does not disappoint. It follows Jason and his friends as they help with the oncoming war against the giants versus the gods as well as try to stop the Roman camp from attacking the Greeks. Jason is the son of Zeus and a demigod which allows for a thrilling adventure. Another notable character in this novel is Percy Jackson. Overall a 9/10.
An intense ending to this series (although 12yo promises me I'll see these characters again in other books, which makes me happy). I love equal time being given to all (okay, most) of the characters. Percy grates on me sometimes, and I love looking at the action through others' eyes (Reyna and Nico for the win). The fights and battles in this one were particularly great, with the very high stakes.
1. In my area, 5th graders learn about Greek mythology, so I think I was that age when I was first interested in it. I didn‘t have an interest in Egyptian or Arthurian myths (I did like Disney‘s The Sword in the Stone).
2. Greek

I finally did it. I reached 24 hours for #24b4monday with 24 hours and 1 minute. I did it with 7 minute to midnight. I forgot to post last night because I was so tired and when I woke up my timer had reset. 🙈

An excellent end to another amazing series by Rick Riordan. If you haven't read The Heroes of Olympus series, do it. You won't regret it. Just one word of advice. Read the Percy Jackson series first or you'll feel a little lost at times. 😉
I was making great progress in #24in48 this morning. Josh and I listened and debated 2 audiobooks. But then Monica called. Which is always an hour plus. Then my parents stopped by and we had family dinner. Then we had to go see the puppies. So I am now finally home going to pick up my books again. BTW see what I found at Dollar General. I couldn't pass it up.
The last book in the Heroes of Olympus series which deals with Roman and Greek mythology. This one also leads into his new series 'The Trials of Apollo' using it for my #popsugar2017 challenge. 4.5 rating
Finished book 5 this afternoon. Overall, I loved this series. I think the ending was a little rushed and this book felt a little choppier than the others, but a great series overall.
Settling in to read the final volume! Sparty is uninterested.
