Eat Like You Give a Damn
Eat Like You Give a Damn: Recipes for the New Ethical Vegan | Michelle Schwegmann, Josh Hooten
1 post | 1 to read
Vegan designers Michelle Schwegmann and Josh Hooten are co-owners of The Herbivore Clothing Company in Portland, Oregon. As movers and shakers in the regional and national vegan movements, they've donated design work to help support fundraising for animal rights, social justice, and animal sanctuaries. When they're not planning their next line of vegan/vegetarian/animal rights message gear, they're busy in their kitchen, whipping up fabulous vegan dishes. Eat Like You Give a Damn is a collection of over 100 of their favourite recipes, sure to satisfy a yen for something hearty, cure cheese cravings, or produce kid-approved fare. Whether someone's in a hurry or wants to linger over the stove, they'll be able to create a huge helping of deliciousness--all while being kind to the animals.

Yessss!! Litsy is working for me again! Apologies for the backlog of #photoadaynov16 posts I'll be posting now to catch up. Here are the cookbooks I use most, AKA those most worthy of my #cookbooklove. 💕Most often used cookbooks are on the bottom row with the book this is posted under being my most used cookbook because it is just the most perfect for me #vegan cookbook ever. And, yes, some aren't vegan--I veganize the relevant recipes from them.

GlitteryOtters Tagging the books pictured above, because you can't really read all of the titles 8y

CocoReads I'm not even remotely vegan but those look like great cookbooks. 8y
GlitteryOtters @ColleenSchrader they are all so good! As are the non vegan ones (I swear by that bread book and the Preserving Summer's Bounty, even though they aren't vegan, I use constantly. And the Passionate Vegetarian is one of the best non-meat cookbooks I've ever found, even though half of it isn't naturally vegan). I'm lucky that my housemate is a vegetarian professional chef & my husband is a foodie dietetics student...so many good cookbooks between us! 8y
GlitteryOtters Best budget raw vegan cookbook--also, her http://rawon10.com website has a ton of amazingly good raw vegan recipes. 8y
GlitteryOtters My husband's favorite & most used vegan cookbook (along with 500 vegan recipes) 8y
GlitteryOtters So much love for both the cookbook writers (owners of Herbivore, the Portland, Oregon vegan-centered clothing, books and accessories) and their amazing recipes. I make stuff from this cookbook usually at least once or twice a week. 💕 8y
GlitteryOtters Best bread machine cookbook ever (seriously...ditch the recipes that come with your instruction manual & use this book instead. You will thank me. And save a ton of $$. And make some of the most fantastic regular and specialty breads, rolls, pizza dough, etc., ever) 8y
Eyelit YAAASSSSS! I have some of those (and need some of those)! Awesome! 8y
DebinHawaii A great collection! I have many of these myself! 👍👍🍴📚📚 8y
GlitteryOtters @Eyelit @DebinHawaii scarily enough, this is only a fraction of our cookbook collection! We have so many! But I can't help it, I get too excited about amazing new vegan cookbooks & want to buy them all (up next: Isa Chandra Moskowitz's new holiday cookbook which releases on Tuesday...I can't wait for my preordered copy to arrive!!) 8y
