I haven't read other books in this series, but that didn't stop me from enjoying this short story that comes between books 1 and 2 of the Shadowshaper Cypher series. I liked the workings of the ghost girl situation, the characterization of not only the characters but also their community, and the exploration of Izzy and Tee‘s relationship. #LGBTQ #GhostStory

It rare to find a young adult book featuring teen characters of color AND the added bonus that it is science fiction.

First one down! DJO left me with more questions than answers, but looking forward to Dead Light March! Onwards and forward! #TBRoctober

Adding the Kindle app to my phone was probs the best and the worst idea I've ever had. Pros, I can read ANYWHERE. Cons, I might lose track of my "currently reading" pile. My max is usually about 3 at a time. How many books can everyone else read at a time?

⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️ This was a SUPER satisfying return to the Shadowshaper world! I loved that this novella let us spend more time with Tee and Izzy and get to know them both a bit more. I really appreciated that Tee and Izzy's relationship was complicated and multidimensional and still hopeful. I loved the critique written in of the clueless white lady that's "helping" administer the grant that Tee is using to restart Manny's paper-spot on! #DiverseAThon

I loved shadowshaper so a continuation of the story was excellent! Focusing more on Sierra's friends this time around, a new mystery is uncovered and the events from the first book allow a way to solve it! Funny, insightful and so real, this is a good tide over until the second in the series drops this summer. Book 2 for #24in48

I'm in love with all things Shadowshaper! This book about side characters, two of my favorite side characters Izzy and her girlfriend Tee as they deal with a ghost girl in the corner and a missing sports star from their town. Also Neville gets a really cool part in this one that I liked reading about, it made him more real.

So glad the author surprised us with this novella in the Shadowshaper series! I really appreciated how he took the real life issue about marginalized victims of crime receiving less attention from media and local police and turned it into a heartbreaking but captivating read.
