#Jojen doesn‘t seem to think that #lmpbc is as important as I do. He makes getting through these stories difficult 😩

bookaholic1 My cat is exactly the same, can't seem to sit anywhere to read without her crawling on me or the book, lol 20m

I miss those glorious, no responsibility days. I just thought I wanted to adult!!

veritysalter I love this story - I loaned it to my mother this month, she told me she “preferred the film” 😢 1d
OriginalCyn620 Same! I‘ve never read this book though! 1d

Foreknowledge of what awaited me on Peterborough railway station would have had me packing a bag and going to the bus depot, hitchhiking even or getting a taxi to another town. I could have gone to East Midlands or Norwich Airport or even down south to Stansted or Luton. I could have got an Easyjet flight - hell, if I'd known I was fleeing for my life, I might have even risked Ryanair.

Heh!

BookwormM Love it 🤣🤣 2d

Pickpick

It had been years since I read Norah Lofts. This one was a bit slow, but enjoyable just the same. Im picking up The Haunting Of Gad‘s Hall tomorrow. Two timelines...one from the 1840s and the other, I‘m guessing circa 1970s..one house, two different families. Something tragic happened in house, can‘t wait to see what exactly the more modern family experiences.

MrBook Nice! 😻😻😻 2d

I'm enjoying this so far, although it seems like lots of other people found the characters annoying. It reminds me a good bit of some of the Barbara Michaels paranormals.

A little contrived to move the plot along at times but an enjoyable read with a supernatural twist that was nicely done creep wise.

Wanted to zip through and finish this so I can concentrate on my buddy read etc 👍❤️

At the heart of the story is Hundreds Hall, a decaying mansion which may or may not be haunted by evil spirits. The foreshadowing of the horror, fascinating narrative and memorable ending makes this a #haunting read. Loved it!

This book was an okay thriller but I wish it had scared me more.
