Waste of Space | 
so-soI read this book expecting a cross between Illuminae and the most hilarious and ridiculous parts of reality television. And while this book certainly attempted to do that, I felt that it fell a bit short. It had potential, but the ending felt a bit far-fetched and confusing, the file formatting wasn‘t as seamless as in Illuminae, and there was less hair tearing and mascara-smearing-tears than I was hoping for. Still okay, but not amazing.

What if you put 10 teens on a spaceship, launched it into space, and filmed their experiences for a reality show? That's exactly what happens in this novel, complete with all of the fighting, hijinks, and hilarity one would expect from such reality tv. While the characters were a bit stereotypical at first, they (mostly) redeem themselves throughout the book.
It's about a teen reality show in space. I'd say that qualifies as a #SpaceOddity. #SeptemBowie
When I first started this book I didn't like it but as I kept reading I started liking it more and more. The ending really got me! I got this book at Y'all west so hopefully I'll be able to get more books from HMH!

so-soUltimately the style of writing was difficult for me to get in to, it kept pulling me out of the story. If you like the screenwriting style (or try the audio) then I recommend Waste of Space.
Not my favorite style of writing but still funny enough to keep me going.

I loved my coffee break book today. Teens who think they're being sent into space but are really on a closed reality tv set can only mean lots of drama and secrets. It's also told through transcripts, letters, and posts, which I always love.
That's me right now. I have to read an extremely boring book for uni 'cause I have to write a critique on it and it takes me aaaaages to finish it. Not only am I stuck in that one book, it also hinders me on reading other books because I can't read more than one book at once. I'm grumpy!
I read all the books on my March TBR (and then some) except for one- I had to return Only Ever Yours to the library before I could get to it. Several of my April picks are for book clubs or reviews, and a few just for fun. I should be finishing up the Star Side of Bird Hill this afternoon.
