Crazy busy week at work, plus a Mental Health walk we're sponsoring this weekend. Not sure how much reading I will get to do. And I can't believe September is almost over!

Think I'm going to start this book tonight. I've had it for about a month and it keeps staring me down from the bookshelf. Also, this Harvest Chai scented candle from Target smells so good. Perfect for fall. (Yes, it was safe in this picture. I had it on something flad and sturdy just to take this quick picture.)
Happy Fall Y'all! 😁🧡🍂🍁🎃🧡

Had a horrible work day today. So, went to Target, got a new book, a basket for my #jb supplies, new pens, and some excedrin. 😉 Also got a #jb card from @AmyG (love the card and envelope, so pretty!) in the mail.

#ReadingResolutions #red ❤️🍷👠🍎🌹🍒🎈🌶 I was feeling lazy so rather than track down physical books with red covers on my shelves, I went to my Goodreads virtual shelves for books with 'red' in the title. I found six. I've read all but the tagged book which is loaded on my Kindle to get to one of these days... 📚📚📚😬📚📚

This is a good mystery with lots of characters that intertwine. There‘s an old house, past traumas, and stolen money. There was so much going on I‘m afraid I‘ll give away a spoiler if I say more. #LitsyReadingChallenge2018 #freespace

Time to line up my next audiobook. This is the first book I will have read from Lisa Unger, but she is an author I have wanted to try for some time.

Redwritinghood Same. I have one of her books on Kindle, but it‘s unread, of course. Look forward to your review. 2y

The Red Hunter is without doubt a fascinating read and even though it started out a bit slow, I ended up really enjoying it. Not every character is all that likeable, but they are all well developed and add something to the story. It‘s also intriguing how the different characters try to deal with the traumas of their past, and all in all it is without doubt an worthy psychological thriller.

4/5 stars

I love Lisa Unger and this newest stand alone novel from her did not disappoint. It is a fast read told from multiple perspectives. It's a completely plot driven novel that starts off quickly and keeps the tension to the end. My only negative comments are that, though there are a few twists, how this book ends (the who dunnit) was not a surprise. The end also got me. It was too neatly wrapped as a happy ever after. I like messy endings.

Two lives intertwine with the secrets of one house. Zoey, as a kid, was forced to watch her parents die and was left for dead herself. She hasn't been to that house since she and Uncle Paul got her things. Now she lives for revenge. Claudia inherited a house and has decided to live there with her teen daughter, fix it up on her blog, and learn how to heal after trauma. When the house is ready to give up it's secrets, will they be ready? 5☆'s

I have to admit that I got confused a bit at times when the story shifted in time. Other than that, I really enjoyed this book and appreciated how all the story lines came together at the end. Very satisfying.
