A Dog Named Christmas
A Dog Named Christmas | Greg Kincaid
11 posts | 19 read | 7 to read
When Todd, a developmentally challenged young man still living on his parents' Kansas farm, hears that a local animal shelter is seeking temporary homes for its dogs during the holiday week, he knows exactly what he wants for Christmas. Animals are Todd's first love, and his persistence quickly overwhelms his father's objections to befriending a canine, a reluctance that proves to have a painful origin. The family takes in a very special animal, and the shelter's Christmas adoption programme soon grows larger than anyone had hoped. By the story's end, Todd, with the help of a dog named Christmas, has taught an entire community the transformative power of goodwill and shared love - a lesson for all seasons.

Such a touching story. I remember watching the movie years ago, but I never got around to reading the book until just now. I loved the story, it was really cute.

I loved this book! It was super sweet and charming! Temporary adopting a dog changes a family's life, especially the father. Falling in love with a dog is so rewarding! 5⭐

This was such a sweet, heartwarming book! Focusing mainly on a father and his mentally handicapped son, and the dog they foster over Christmas. Would definitely recommend this one to all dog lovers! ❤️❤️❤️❤️

This is a cute story about the healing power of animals. A local animal shelter puts the call out to clear the shelter for the holidays. You can foster a dog over the holiday then return it after Christmas. Of course they are hoping for foster fails and the McCray family know this. But they can't say no to their mentality challenged young adult Todd who still lives with them. ⭐⭐⭐⭐

A short listen, brilliantly narrated by one of my favorite narrators: Mark Bramhall. This is about a family that reaches out to friends and neighbors to find homes for all of the local shelter dogs over the Christmas holiday. Definitely a feel-good story and I love the way the narrator reluctantly fell in love with the dog named Christmas.
