Long Way Home | Eva Dolan
6 posts | 3 read | 10 to read
A man is burnt alive in a shed. No witnesses, no fingerprints - only a positive ID of the victim as an immigrant with a long list of enemies. Detectives Zigic and Ferreira are called in from the Hate Crimes Unit to track the killer, and are met with silence in a Fenland community ruled by slum racketeers, people-trafficking gangs and fear. Tensions rise. The clock is ticking. But nobody wants to talk.

#20series20days @Andrew65
Day 4 - back to crime with a series which is only on book 4 but i have really enjoyed. Set in the Cambridge area the police officers zigic and fereira are drawn particularly into crimes involving immigrant work force which inevitably in last few years has addressed political issues.
Im eagerly waiting for book 5.

EadieB My library has these books except for book 2 4y
Andrew65 I don‘t know this one, thanks for posting it. 😊 4y
MsMelissa I think this one might interest my husband. I‘m going to have to tell him about it. (edited) 4y

This will be my last book of 2019 and completes the prompt #newin2019 for #booked2019 @Cinfhen @4thhouseontheleft @BarbaraTheBibliophage (separate post coming up shortly summarising what I've read for the Fall prompts).

Crazy Rich Asians will probably be my first read of 2020.

#lastfirst @BookNAround

4 🌟 for the book, I like the MCs but felt the ending was a bit 'where did that come from'? Will be reading more by the author though.

Cinfhen Woohoo 🥳 well done ❤️ 5y
jenniferw88 Also #holidayread for #readnosedreindeer #wintergames @Clwojick @StayCurious - it isn't very festive but it takes place in December. 5y
BookNAround I still need to read Crazy Rich Asians. I wanted to read it before I saw the movie but that didn‘t happen. I really liked the movie though so I‘m sure the book will be great. 5y
BarbaraTheBibliophage Sorry it wasn‘t more stars, but still glad you found a new author! 😁 5y

& this is the book I got with #blinddatewithabook @Waterstones .

Laura317 Did the packaging have any clues as to the type of book? I‘d love to try this, but no stores around me do blind dates with a book. 6y
jenniferw88 @Laura317 if you scroll down a couple of posts on my profile you will see the packaging. 6y

In the last couple of years i have devoured this series and am just waiting for book number 4, really intelligent crime writing highlighting racial tensions amidst exploited European workers in Cambridgeshire. If you like crime writing id really recommend her writing.

Cinfhen Sounds excellent, gonna recommend to my dad! Thanks for posting 📚💙 8y
