Riveted: A Saints of Denver Novel | Jay Crownover
11 posts | 11 read
From the New York Times bestselling author of the Marked Men books comes the next installment in the Saints of Denver series. Everyone else in Dixie Carmichael’s life has made falling in love look easy, and now she is ready for her own chance at some of that happily ever after. Which means she’s done pining for the moody, silent former soldier who works with her at the bar that’s become her home away from home. Nope. No more chasing the hot as heck thundercloud of a man and no more waiting for Mr. Right to find her; she’s going hunting for him...even if she knows her heart is stuck on its stupid infatuation with Dash Churchill. Denver has always been just a pit stop for Church on his way back to rural Mississippi. It was supposed to be simple, uneventful, but nothing could have prepared him for the bubbly, bouncy redhead with doe eyes and endless curves. Now he knows it’s time to get out of Denver, fast. For a man used to living in the shadows, the idea of spending his days in the sun is nothing short of terrifying. When Dixie and Church find themselves caught up in a homecoming overshadowed with lies and danger, Dixie realizes that while falling in love is easy, loving takes a whole lot more work…especially when Mr. Right thinks he’s all wrong for you.

Not going to lie.. i'm always going to read anything with a fake relationship trope. It's a fave and Crownover didn't dissappoint.
Dixie is such a firecracker and i fell in love with her, her tee collection, and her honesty.

Sigh...I loved it. I mean, I'm a little sad that Dixie and Church are moving to Mississippi but given Church's background-it had to happen. Looking forward to Wheeler and Poppy in the next book. I've been needing Poppy to find her happy ever since she turned up in Rowdy's book. Seriously, Crownover's books are the best kind of new adult #romantsy

Bostonmomx2 Are there same sex romances in these series? 7y
CocoReads @bostonmomx2 There's one novella, Levelled, that bridges the Marked Men and Saints of Denver series. It's a m/m romance.Plus Dixie's sister reveals a secret of that nature in this one, but I'm not sure she'll get her own story. (edited) 7y
CocoReads I'm sort of on the lookout for more same sex romances these days, but haven't found too many good ones that aren't more porn than romance. 7y

In a very "omg we're so old" kind of way, the hub and I drove to a concert in another town an hour away, got there, couldn't find a place to park, and decided to just come home and go to bed. But now he's on the phone yelling at work people so I'm gonna do some reading. Also, we stopped in another town for the early bird dinner with senior citizens. Good food, but I think I'm turning into my mother! ?

CocoReads Scratch that, my mother would never go to a rock concert. Or read books with these covers. I did think about my parents on our ride back though as we took the scenic route through Michigan's wine country! 7y
litmuggle There's nothing wrong with growing older as long as we do it with style. 7y
ReadingEnvy My husband and I once did this to Chicago. Drove there from somewhere in Indiana, felt overwhelmed and didn't have a plan (grr), drove home. (!!!) 7y
CocoReads @ReadingEnvy I would've overwhelmed in Chicago too! I told him we should just stop at one of the beaches to watch the sunset since looking at the water always makes me happy but that was a no go. 7y

I don't feel one bit of #Guiltylove for the contents of my nook. Yeah, some of these books are pretty sexist, lots of alpha males and macho bullshit but most of the female characters are pretty bad ass themselves. #17booklove

BookishMarginalia I have always thought that everybody should read whatever they want, whenever they want. Enjoy! 7y
howjessicareads 😀 7y
CocoReads @bookishmarginalia that's exactly how I feel about it. I'll read just about everything and the older I get, the less apologies I make about it! 7y
Jas16 Yay!! No guilt needed. 7y
