Not my favorite literary biography. I'm not sorry I finished it, but I don't think this will be a reread.

This book was as informative as it was heartbreaking. As one of my absolutely, all-time favorite authors, I have always been curious about Mrs. Parker‘s life. However, sometimes ignorance is bliss, for once you look behind the curtain you cannot I know what you have seen. This book is impeccably researched and well written, but it hurt to read... because Parker was a terminally unhappy alcoholic who seemed to have a real talent for self sabotage.

Just realized I've been wearing my Dorothy Parker necklace all day and didn't realize it was her birthday when I put it on this morning. And when I realized it was her birthday this afternoon I'd forgotten I had the necklace on. Just put it all together. Bam!
