A solid 3 stars. There are passages that are superb but there are also parts where I lost interest. It‘s an interesting comparison to Swann‘s Way and other books I‘ve been reading from this period - here we have a woman‘s observations of high society (although through a young male protagonist) I feel that Vita has more insight into the ageing beauty, the society doyen, the virtuous but naive wife etc. ⬇️
