Pet Peeves & Problem People
Pet Peeves & Problem People: The Most Common Pet Peeves & Problem-People Problems (and How to Handle Them) | Gwynne Dawdy
5 posts
"I had a supervisor who did not offer clear expectations or feedback to employees, what should I have done?" "I have a kind young woman on my work team who starts each day with a 15 minute review of her personal life. When something "tragic" happens in her personal life, she is the epitome of the drama queen. How do we handle this?" These are only a few examples of some of the most common issues that project managers and other professionals brought to my attention. This book was designed from a nation-wide survey of projaect managers, leaders, and office personnel and it includes suggestions to effectively manage these issues. We all work with pet peeves and problem people. The trick is to manage these issues to they don't impede our performance.

1. People that either can't or won't follow simple directions. Example: exiting out the entrance only door when I'm trying to enter. There's a frickin sign on the wall!
2. Whichever one is chocolate.
3. Kim the fish (This is not the answer I use for the security question.)
4. I have two: self help and Christian fiction.

Something fun for everyone 😁 Here's mine and can't wait to see yours!

1. Shallow and whiny characters
2. Abrupt ending after a good story buildup
3. Lousy prose

Happy Saturday! #bookspetpeeves

Moonglotexas First person narrative, killing the main character and flashbacks 7y
thereadingowlvina @Moonglotexas Oh yes, those flashbacks can be annoying and confusing 😕 7y
SEWhite First person, confusing plot jumps, and love triangles! 7y

1. There are many, but today I‘m feeling particularly irritated with people who don‘t follow through on their commitments and don‘t realize or care that their actions affect others.
2. Port Aransas, TX, or Vegas.
3. It (or A Little Life)
4. The Polar Express 🚂
5. What‘s your favorite book to movie adaptation? (I️ love Julie and Julia, even though they left my favorite part from the book out of the movie).

RachelAmphlett Have to say I think they did a pretty good job of bringing Andy Weir‘s The Martian to the big screen 7y
Maggie4483 @RachelAmphlett I️ haven‘t read the book but I‘ve seen the movie - and it‘s been on my TBR for a while (I️ found it on clearance, and bought it for a gift, but almost kept it for myself 😬). 7y
parttimedomestic Not a movie, but I love the bbc mini series of Pride and Prejudice! 7y
Maggie4483 @parttimedomestic that totally counts, and I️ agree 100%! 7y

Day 12 #MarchIntoReading #bookishpetpeeves Nothing new here--my bookish pet peeves are fairly aligned with everyone: stickers on covers, movie tie-in covers and E-books that auto-update with them, lack of care for library books & writing in or damaging them, ugly covers, book/genre snobs; "I don't read that type of book...," interrupters & plot spoilers, bad book blurbs, re-issued books w/ different titles that don't clearly spell it out...???

Bklover Stickers on covers and updated ebook covers for movie tie-ins are definitely on my list. 😠 8y
