Just added to my nonfiction library for #nonfiction2019.

I made a huge mistake in listening to this on audio. The narrator/author made made me cringe through the whole thing. It seemed much more historical fiction vs nonfiction, especially with the made up conversations and the line where Washington considered something shady. The topic seemed so great, but the execution wasn‘t. I do want to read a better book on this topic though! #audiobook

Time to get Revolutionary

It took a few chapters to get into this one, but once I had the people down I read right through. I thought it very well researched and not knowing the identity Agent 355 is killing me. 😣

The imaginary conversations are proving to be just too unbearable. I feel like I understand the author's need to captivate with dialogue but it just feels like historical fiction that is based on factual information?

So far, it is an insightful look into Washington's spy ring . . . I love the credit paid to archivists who, over time, have identified members of the ring . . . Love to my LIS family 📚🙌🏽

Seems like a surprising amount of self-awareness from a Fox News guy. Unless the other author is responsible for this.

I feel like they wanted to write historical fiction, but then did all this research and wanted credit for serious non-fiction. How well this works out is yet to be seen

Amateurish. Dumb-downed. Drivel. Please skip this non-academic look into the Culper Ring and find a researched book into the spy ring that helped keep British forces chasing their tales in Manhattan and allowing the Revolutionary War to be won elsewhere.

If you're looking for a well researched and exciting read on the spy circle that was essential to winning the revolution, look no further. Provides great context and creates a compelling depiction of these real life heroes. Perfect for any early US history lover!
