Too complicated to enjoy. I'm usually into this stuff, but this is Level: Neil Degrasse Tyson. I want something different but not THIS different. On the DNF pile it goes.
I found this to be a challenging read and quite different from the Greg Egan books I have read previously. The geometry in this was a bit beyond me, but it was still an entertaining story with an interesting sociological thread. I wouldn't recommend this as a starter to Greg Egan. I'm glad I read it and will be interested to read whatever he comes out with next. It was the strangest world with a very strange society and strange life forms.
Trying to distract myself with some reading while my daughter sleeps - she admitted to hospital yesterday afternoon with an unbelievable asthma attack and she has put in a super rough night. I'm really hoping she starts to respond to the meds or they may move her to ICU 😢
I decided to dive into this one tonight. I'm only 27 pages in and it's crazy math and weird symbiont people. My brain is going to get a work out with this one.
Monday book mail! Great way to start the week 😊I might put the Joe Abercrombie series aside to squeeze this one in - Greg Egan is a master of hard sci-fi and I haven't been disappointed by him yet.
