Enjoyable! I liked the flow between character point of views. I favored reading Mary, Deirdre, and then Eliza‘s POV best.

I read Meg Mitchell Moore's The Captain's Daughter for book club, and somehow between voting on the nominated books and needing to read this one, I had entirely forgotten what it was about. (I had historical fiction on the brain--1800s New England shipping town, with a crotchety old captain at its center? Not sure where I came up with that one.) I will say that The Captain's Daughter was a pleasant surprise. (continued in comments)
“What‘s this book about anyway Mom?”
Are those sad puppy dog eyes or what? I don‘t want to go to work either, Reese. I‘d much rather cuddle in bed all day with you and this book.
Finishing up Meg Mitchell Moore's new book today -- great read/listen. We're doing an event together on Weds Aug 2 at Buttonwoods Books in Cohasset MA -- a few tickets still available! Would love to meet some Littens if anyone lives nearby.
Eliza returns to her hometown in Maine to car for her father while her husband stays with her two daughters. While in Maine, she runs into an old boyfriend and befriends a teenage girl that has her questioning how her life would be different had she stayed. Lots of characters and issues. Might have been more fleshed out had some of these been culled from the narrative. A summery beach read. #netgalley
